Ebonite Basic Single Bowling Ball Tote

I've been using Ebonite bowling bags as sports bags and tote bags for at least 15 years. I still have 3 good Ebonite bags left over from my original purchases, another couple I've purchased in the past 4 - 5 years, and then a new one I just bought a few months ago.My oldest bags are reaching the end of their usable lives: they've been terrifically durable over the years, but the plastic or vinyl coating inside is starting to degrade and peel off, and it's becoming too hard to clean the outer surfaces properly.I've never been happy with the two newer ones I bought a few years ago because Ebonite changed the design of the opening from a midline opening to a U-shaped opening and changed to a smaller and much flimsier zipper handle, leading to easily broken zippers (a problem I haven't had with the oldest bags). I was hoping that with this latest design, they would have improved on these two factors.Unfortunately, this newest bag that I just recently bought is no improvement.(1) The internal dimensions are considerably smaller, so it's harder to fit everything you need in. Lack of space was never a problem with my oldest bags.(2) The've stuck with the U-shaped opening. Maybe that works better for bowling balls, but it definitely does not work better for other uses, and it puts a greater strain on the zipper.(3) The zipper handle is still too small, and the zipper material is too weak. I'm sure this zipper will break before long.(4) The bag handles are too short.The sole area of improvement is that they've finally included a bit of a cushion for the shoulder strap - although it really isn't all that comfortable after all. The one major disappointment I've had with my oldest bags is none of them has a comfortable shoulder strap cushion; they all just have firm shoulder strap grips (made of a material that eventually tears). So I was hoping this newest bag design would incorporate a comfortable cushion. But that leads to the 5th annoyance:(5) The shoulder strap is permanently affixed to a rectangular metal attachment that is sewn in place. It would have been much better if detachable metal carabiners were used instead, so that a buyer such as myself would have the option of getting a longer and much better cushioned shoulder strap as a replacement.I was really hoping this new bag's design would be the one that would convince me that it was time to replace all the old bags. But, sadly, there are just too many problems with this new design. I haven't yet seen better bags from other sellers, either, so I guess I'll have to keep waiting and hoping someone will do these bags right.

I just started bowling again. Lost my original ball, shoes and bag and I had to purchase a new set, this works just fine.It may not last long but it does the job. Holds one ball, a pair of shoes (as long as it's not large size), a towel and it has front and side pockets for other stuff. The zipper is sometimes hard to work with as it tends to catch on something, but if you don't force it and work with it a bit, it works!

Very sturdy; I like the colors. I almost thought I couldn't get it into my locker at the center where I bowl, but I found one of my shoes had fallen to the side. It (the bag) IS a little bit wide and I sort of had to squeeze it into the locker. So I will not be overloading with a lot of excess equipment (like my own personal bowling lanes...LOL).

The bag works great. The construction is nice - no complaints, not cheap. The side mesh pockets are awesome! Love them, can carry munchies and water bottles, etc. The only questionable item - the shoe compartment. A ladies 8.5 shoe is tight by my specifications. I would of liked to see a tiny bit more room in the bag. I would buy again and have recommended to several.

It's just a bowling bag, nothing special. I wasn't expecting great things since I only paid around $20. It holds my ball and my shoes, but if your feet are bigger than size 9 you may have trouble fitting your shoes in this bag. My bag actually looked a bit worn when I received it, almost like it had been previously used. But like I said, for the money it suits me just fine.

This bag is decent. It doesn't fit the ball in very snug so there is movement if your not holding the bag just right otherwise it works fine. there is a holder in it for the bowling ball itself and a flap that separates the shoes from the ball so everything in the bag is kept safe. Over all, i'm a satisfied customer.

Great bag for the price. Has a zippered front pouch and a netted pouch on each side and vents for air. Room for shoes on top but not up to size 13 mens as they claim. I wear mens 9 1/2 and it takes a little work to get them in. Maybe up to size 11 would fit and I do mean maybe.

The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the zipper. It works, but like many inexpensive zippers feels a bit flimsy and likes to get stuck a little. This isn't a big deal though if looking for a nice inexpensive bag. I purchased for my daughter who is just getting into bowling and she loves it.

The bag exceeded my expectations. It has everything I wished for as it holds my woods and all my outdoor weather gear. excellent value. I know it is meant a for a bowling alley ball bit I am using for Crown Green Bowling.
