Ronco Ready Grill, Black

I have probably bought 25 kitchen gadgets from Amazon before. Let me just start by saying this could be the best and most slept buy on Amazon. This product is simply amazing I have a Ronco rotisserie so I knew I would be getting something nice but are you freaking serious? I just made chicken and it turned out great! I cook basically all of my meals at home and this is juicy, flavorful, and tender. Tastes way better than coming out of a normal oven.Super convenient and easy to clean and well made with stainless steel construction. Honestly do not hesitate this by for the price it is seriously a bargain and worth triple than what they are asking. I purchased from Amazon and my package came sealed and brand new. I am absolutely floored with the quality of this little machine and plan on cook everything from steak to fish inside of it. I just bought a second one on GP.

I tried it the first time a few days ago and grilled a chicken breast. No smoke, turned out well. Will take practice to learn the right amount of time to grill in order to get it just right (that is, not overcooked, not undercooked). But this unit works well and for the price cannot be beat. Not for grilling for families but it's fine for 1 or 2 people.

I'm a household of one who wants to make an occasional steak without having to fire up an outside grill,or use the oven broiler that smells up the whole house. This seemed like a good option. It works fine but it will take some trial and error to get it right. I can understand reviews from people who got frustrated the first time out. The documentation that comes with this grill is useless. The only way to figure out the right way to use it is to make mistakes. And you will. But once you figure it out, it makes a decent steak. I've tried it with a fresh steak and with one that's frozen. I got better and more predictable results with a fresh or thawed steak. The thicker the better. I get a very nice medium rare in about 12 minutes. It is extremely important to pre-heat the grill before putting in the meat. The grill insert is a little wonky in figuring out which way to turn it, but it works well. I use it on top of the (glass) stovetop with the exhaust fan turned on, and I get no fumes through the house. Biggest complaints: The instructions and documentation are worthless. The drip tray is poorly made and configured. It does not snap in. But worse is the way it has to be positioned. If you slide it all the way in, the way that makes sense, it does not line up, and you'll have drippings running everywhere. That alone could make you want to throw the whole thing away. Instead, you have to eyeball it from the top and figure out how and where to place it to catch the drippings. Trial and error to get it right. The drip pan is 75% plastic. It melts under the elements. Really stupid way to make it. After use, every piece has to be taken out to be cleaned. Fortunately they slide in and out quickly and easily and they all go in the dishwasher, but it's still a lot of parts. This is an OK alternative for one or two steaks or burgers once a week or so. But I doubt it will ever be a favorite kitchen appliance.

Very seldom have I found such a useful household item. This Ready Grill has cooked tater tots, french fries, hamburgers, fish, fish sticks, italian sausages, chicken breasts and I don't have pans I need to clean afterward! As an RV'er, this saves on propane and/or gasoline depending on whether you use a gas or electric oven. For example: Fish sticks that traditionally take 28 minutes in the oven, which you have to flip over halfway to get browned on both sides, you don't have to flip them and it only takes 15 minutes in the Ready Grill. I don't see why this couldn't do grilled cheese if watched carefully, I've made toast in it too. This would be great for busy moms, people that can't cook, etc. It's really a great item! I have a lot of Ronco products sitting around that I don't use. This item gets a lot of use and I'm really glad I got it. Thank you.

this has been around for a long time. viewed some infomercials from 7 years ago. arrived on time on perfect condition. have used twice. first time followed guide & a little over cooked. cut back a few minutes & second time was perfect. only thing misleading is capacity. ads show feeding a family of 4 to 5. impossible. I was surprised when I took the rack out of the box. about 7" by 10 3/4" that family must not be hungry! but - for 1 or 2 people this is just right. clean up super easy and doesn't take up a lot of space

Operates a bit like a toaster. I have owned and used one of these for quite a few years. It sears both sides quickly and evenly and rarely smokes.All drippings baste meat as it drips down to a pan that easily and occasionally swipes out.

This thing is indescribably stupid. I guess it's OK for like throwing a couple of frozen burger patties in there, because it heats on both sides and don't have to flip it or worry about little grease drops popping up and landing on the counter and making a mess. But for most other things, it's just really dumb. It's easier to just use the stove or oven. And it's really small so it's really only for a single person maybe two at the most but even then you're not gonna get the whole meal in there for two people like it says on the infomercial. You're gonna be cooking your veggies separately. Especially not if the two people have a decent size appetite. There's just not much room. And cleaning the drip tray is really not that quick/fast because all the 90° corners, make it harder to clean thab a pan with rounded edges. All in all this is another silly kitchen gadget that the vast majority of people will end up not using after the first week. And no, it does not properly sear a steak. It does not get hot enough. If you want a good steak, you need a cast-iron pan scorching hot.

Absolutely love it, I had one years ago, it's nice to have again.

I grilled hamburger in it and steak SO FAR SO GOOD.....the good think with this unit is that I don't need to spend time to clean it like I always had done with the flat grills....

I like it, the grilling is good as long as you respect the time marked in instructions, however I found that the basket is a little to narrow. If you use it for 1 or 2 persons, it might be enough, for more is to small.

My previous RONCO grill worked for 7 years. It's my every day helper. Therefore, I had to order another one. So far so good.
