Excellent recipes, recommendations, and techniques
I haven't had a chance to try a lot of the recipes in here yet, I'm still working on perfecting the basics. However, I could recommend this book for his rub recipes alone. I now make my own rubs for BBQ and it has made a tremendous difference in flavor profiles. The reason I enjoy this book so much is because it is intended for back yard BBQ'ers and has simple, easy to follow recipes you can cook any night of the week. If you are looking for competition secrets, this isn't the book for you.I'm still eager to try out some of the other recipes, but that will come in time, there are only so many BBQs I can squeeze into a week.

Great book from a Great Pitmaster!
I recently purchased Myron's book "Smokin" and really enjoyed it, the recipes and insight he provided has changed the way I will BBQ forever. This book is a continuation of the first book in that he gives recipes for all the leftovers from the first book. Not only does this book offer advice on how to cook with all different types of pits it also has Myron's own way of teaching which is very informative and sometimes funny.

He makes great BBQ, but be wary of the cornbread recipe
I have several of Myron's cookbooks. They are well organized, detailed and the instructions are pretty good. His 'style' of BBQ is very different than mine - I like very very simple BBQ with very little sugar. I like to let the flavor of the meat speak. Having said that, I have learned a lot about technique from reading his books. I think he and Aaron Franklin are the two hottest BBQ chefs in the country. If you can't learn anything from Myron's books you are not being open-minded.Separately, I made his cornbread recipe not once, but twice. Both times it turned out like a rock. My better half confirmed all the ingredients I put in against the recipe. I am convinced the recipe is missing something - namely a leavening agent. If you make this recipe I recommend adding a tsp of baking powder.Overall he writes great books, but let's be honest, you didn't buy the book for his baking skills :-)Follow-up: I wrote Myron's team at jacksoldsouth.com (via the 'contact us' function) about the cornbread recipe. I was most impressed that they wrote back immediately and admitted the recipe was missing a leavening agent...the recipe needs 1.5 tsp of baking powder and 0.5 tsp of baking soda. They will fix the recipe in future editions. So refreshing to deal with an organization that admits its errors so readily. My kind of people.

great book
The book was what I was looking for. I got a used one and it looked brand new except it got a little damaged in shipping. Nothing to keep me from reading in. But for $7.01 what do you say. Over all it has what you need if you want to learn different ways of grilling.

New BBQ Bible For Me.
I have quite a few BBQ cookbooks as I am always looking for something new to try. I purchased Myron's first cookbook and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't blown away by it. However, with this cookbook, Myron has raised the bar for all BBQ cookbook authors. Everyday Barbecue has a terrific selection of sauce's and recipes, many of them I have never seen before. I am constantly on the lookout for the holy grail of bbq sauces. The sauce recipes Myron shares in this book have proven to be a great starting point for making my quest for my own sauce. I highly recommend this for the beginning BBQ cook as well as those who have been cooking for a while. Great Job Myron, I am VERY impressed.

Great Food
Myron Mixon has given an easy to understand and use book. You almost cannot go wrong following his instructions for rubs, injections, and glazes. The best BBQ I have ever cooked up or have had ever! BBQ does take time, so plan on a full day. Buy the book and follow the instructions and you will not regret it. I do recommend this book.

Got two of Myrons books for the Husband for Father's Day - he loved them! We've used countless recipes already, and look forward to every new one we try!

Liebe BBQ geeks,wer sein Wissen rund ums Thema "real american bbq" erweitern möchte ist mit diesem Buch äusserst gut bedient.Der Inhalt ist natürlich in Englisch gehalten, aber keine Sorge, "american english" gaaaanz easy zum Schmökern - einfach die Leseprobe testen für die die sich nicht sicher sind einen Schmöker in einer "Fremdsprache zu testen.Ja, Myron Mixon, in unserern Breiten aus der TV Serie Pitmasters bekannt. Zählt sich zu den besten BBQ Meistern seiner Zunft - Seine Family produziert Gewürzmischungen und somit wurde es möglich das der junge Myron seine Zeit mit BBQ ausfüllt - fährt nun sein unzähligen Jahren von einem Event zum Anderen und erreicht bei unzähligen schöne Preisgelder - das hört man im TV und liest es auch in diesem Buch STÄNDIG - Myron Mixon eben, aber verdammt lustig zum lesen was der Esel so von sich gibt ;0)Trotz seiner eindeutigen selbstverliebtheit hat sich Myron ein unglaubliches Fachwissen aneignen können was er hier in diesem Buch wirklich unglaublich simpel weiter gibt.Unter anderem beschreibt er in kurzen zügen klassische Grundrezepte , Sauce, Mob, Rub etc. mit Zutaten die auch bei uns einfach zu bekommen sind. Danach gibt er auch noch seine Rezepthighlights zum Besten welche auf Grund der Basics absolut EASY zum nachkochen sind, Tips von einem Profi der weiss was er tut.Das Buch ist ein vergnügen zu lesen da immer wieder Wortschmankerl von Myron einfliesen, und Ja man lernt wirklich noch was als Könner und noch mehr als Anfänger.viel Spaß beim Schmökernkeep it low and slow
