Amazing bag with great looks at an even better price
Not long ago I tried a cheap $7 shoulder or “ammo” bag instead of my backpack for everyday carry of small tools, medical, and concealed carry in some cases. The shoulder bag was ok and very easy to carry but lacked the room of my backpack so I set out to find a vintage styling satchel or messenger bag. In comes Berchirly which I found on a top 10 Youtube countdown, and so far I am not disappointed at all it has a beautiful canvas and leather look which I love as I enjoy this type of rugged look. But where this bag excels is space there’s a ton of room I carry a journal, bible, agenda, tool pouch, med pouch, electronic pouch, pens, pencil, small dop kit, during the winter some gloves and a beanie and it’s not even half full; I fit a GoPro with multiple accessories on occasion and still have room for hopefully a dslr some day. Everything stays organized and easy to grab thinaks to the open setup and I could still easily slide in a small laptop but I am old school and enjoy pen and paper. There a small inside zipper pouch perfect for a small lotion tin, altoids tin, and chapstick. There’s 4 outside pockets the two large on the front you can see that have a ton of room and two small side pockets for lint roller, cologne, sunglasses cleaner and really anything you like. The two large from pockets have snap buttons the two sides are secured with leather straps that are beautiful. The front flap is secured with an easy access magnetic button that opens to a zipper to keep your belongings safe. The strap is rather comfortable even with a little weight as my bag goes everywhere with camera gear and odds and ends. A small pad is attached that you can see in the pictures, while looking good with a leather accent it is actually very comfortable. I typically don’t carry it long distance as it goes from house to vehicle to work or stays in my vehicle if I’m running errands but I wouldn’t hesitate to keep it keep on my should for extended periods if I used it as a camera bag as I plan to I’m the future. This bag has changed my whole outlook on shoulder bags.

Very useful, large enough without being overwheming
I am very pleased with this bag. I ordered the XL size, which is perfect for my 17 inch laptop. I'm a bit of a bag enthusiast, and I can tell this is definitely a higher end bag. I saw some of the reviews were questioning the quality, so I'm thinking some of those people got inferior copies. I bought mine from Kim's Republic, the vendor you buy from matters a lot on Amazon. This is a great bag to hold a laptop, a notebook or folio case, and a few pens and other smaller items. I have managed to store a Springfield Armory XD(m) 3.8 compact in a kydex pocket holster in one of the front pockets, but it was a little tight. I like the look of this bag, it is a classic military look that looks fashionable instead of tactical. I don't generally like it when people are wondering if I am carrying a gun (as bags with MOLLE tend to suggest). I could see someone using this in place of a briefcase in a day to day office environment (big meetings and other more formal events might require something more traditional). The strap is very comfortable. I didn't add a lot of weight, but what weight I did have in it was barely noticeable on my shoulder. The buckles have magnetic holders on them, so you don't actually need to buckle and unbuckle them every time you want to get in a pocket. Overall, I am very pleased that I bought this bag. It is just the right size for me to be useful without being overwhelming. It has a very decent quality to it. I have added pictures of how my XD(m) fits, as well as a 17 inch laptop with a folio and a spiral bound notebook, all three of which fit easily with enough room for more things.

Great all around Bag Stylish and a Quality Item
2018 - Update Review: I have used this bag every day for work since I bought it over 2 years ago, it is amazing. It still looks brand new, nothing on it has broken or frayed. This is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made as far as use vs. price. I cannot say enough great about this bag - GET IT. I bought it in the Army Green which is actually a tanish color and it looks great. Original Review: I bought this bag over 4 months ago and it was so worth the money. First, it's really thick sturdy material, the pockets are sewn well and will hold up to jamming a lot into the front two which I do on a daily basis. The straps are all still in great condition with no fraying or signs of coming apart. The only thing I do not like is the two flaps which tuck in to protect the bag where the zipper zips up always are hanging out. I could probably solve this issue if I used a heavy starch and ironed them so I did not remove any stars for this as they are necessary if it's raining and you're carrying this bag to keep your items dry on the ends of the zipper. Besides the quality of the construction it's simply an adorable bag. I had some reservations about spending so much on one bag, but I use it every day at work and I carry a lot of files and notebooks in it and am really glad that I purchased it, well worth the price!

Feels pretty well made, fits a ton of stuff!
Just got the bag! Can't wait to start using it! I bought the 17" bag which I felt might be too big but it felt just right. When you open the box, you can smell the leather and it feels like a pretty solid bag. Doesn't feel flimsy at all. The buckles are weird. The side pockets have a real buckle and the two front ones have a magnetic button. Seems backwards as I'd prefer the side pockets to have the magnet and the front to have the buckles. The side pockets are about large enough to put a small red bull can into. The front pockets can fit an iPad mini and then some! I'm giving it 4 stars because the zipper is a little clunky, and not very smooth I can see there's potential for breakage here. I packed the bag with what I usually pack in my book bag (GoT book is in place of an actual school book) The items are as follows 15" laptop (ultra book) iPad mini Moleskine journal/notebook Camera with lens attached Additional lens Small bag with wires/chargers Travel tripod for camera Large book Pair of glasses with case Misc pens pencils highlighters rulers. Hygiene products (deodorant baby wipes, anti bacterial) not shown in pic I added a pic of all the stuff laid out on the bed in the bag so u can see how the stuff fits inside. Still had room for a few more books or perhaps a change of clothes (minus footware). So far I really like it and can't wait to use it. The color isn't the olive army green which some might think. It's more like a coyote brown that the marines or army are using. Still really nice!

Stylish, portable, easy access, low maintenance, tolreable to weather, and can be used with formal & informal wear!
Stylish, portable, easy access, low maintenance, could be used with formal & informal wear; these are all the things I was looking for in my couple days of research and I found it here with Berchirly Canvas. I am a college student and was looking for a new back-pack over the summer, since my old one broke, and then I decided that switching to a satchel might be a better option. A satchel has always been a dream of mine to own; however I had to do a lot of research to figure out what kind. The leather satchels offer a very professional and very classy look to them; however, leather material (as I already knew) was going to take a lot of extra work and when I saw how much as well as the cost it was a bit much for me. The Berchirly Canvas quickly became an excellent choice for me because it was $80 (right at around what I wanted to spend), it wasn't weather proof however it is a lot more tolerable to weather than leather (especially when leather gets wet). Now another factor for me was size. I needed something that could hold my: 5-7 folders, 2 books, a calculator, agenda, spare supplies, school wallet, and a laptop all at once, and this baby did so phenomenally! Even with all that stuff in at once the bag was still very portable and not too heavy. Now I will caution you on a couple of things: 1) I bought this bag with every intention for it to be something I could replace in a couple of years and not shed a tear. And it most certainly is great for that purpose as well as long term use. 2) If you wear jeans and allow it to rub up against your side for a long period of time, the jean color will rub off onto the bag a little. Not a lot, yet it was enough that I found it easier & smarter just to carry it in hand with one arm (even just ever so slightly so that it didn't touch my side). I especially did this when it was light weight & I would switch arms every now an again; and after doing so the jean color faded away almost entirely. Even with those cautions this is a phenomenal satchel and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a change from the traditional back-pack or anyone looking for a stylish and efficient means to carry their stuff. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

Almost Great
Very good construction and ample pockets. Great materials. After using for 2 months there are 2 glaring gripes. 1) The side "Water Bottle" pockets are not big enough for even a 12oz Slim Can. Way too small. My car keys barely fit. 2) The main cavity liner is not anchored anywhere so it floats like a soft big baggie which makes stuffing something into it hard. You have to smooth out the liner before you put anything in. Bad design. The liner should be anchored other than the bottom.

The Ladies love this bag!!!
I just got the bag and loaded it up with some file folders, a large 17" laptop, some random note pads, and writing utensils. Everything fits fantastic. I researched satchels quite extensively and settled with this one. I'm glad I did. Other bags had utility pockets or a strap on top which would be nice but this bag had the better look. The ladies love a man with a satchel. It inspires the organized but adventurous look as opposed to the brief case or computer bag look everyone else is sporting. Everywhere I go, a woman will compliment "my bag". I didn't get it for the ladies, but let me tell you, they open right up with a conversation due to it. The bag looks great, it very functional, and I have no issues with the strap or buckles. I have more than enough room for an average load, and did I mention... it looks great. Some reviewers over-stuff it and complain of faulty zippers and loosening straps. If you are overloading it, get a different bag... Obviously. The bag looks great, its durable, it looks broken in but with loads of life left in it, and it fits more junk than a laptop case. I'm a project manager and have a laptop, phone, chargers, and files that need to travel with me. This is perfect.

Perfect For Travel, Slightly Softer Canvas
Purchased the XL size for travel (in Army Green). I also have another brand bag in Large that I use for general everyday use, but this bags size has a lot more room that will easily fit a laptop and is best if you carry more gear. As expected the pockets are larger and this bag has a wider strap than my other one, which is nice (2.0" vs. 1.5"). This brand uses a softer less structured canvas (very soft feel) and has slightly softer leather straps...if you are looking for a sturdier canvas bag there are at least two other brands available on Amazon that meet that criteria. The quality of this bag is comparable (good) and an excellent value. This bag's color is as expected but I am not that picky...it's not luggage or a briefcase so wear & tear will only add to its vintage look. UPDATE: Used the bag for everyday gear, still love it. Great for travel. Plenty of room. Did notice the shoulder strap tends to slide, gaining length, but not a show stopper for me. Lost a leather strap magnet from some mishandling by a commuter plane crew but in all honesty I rarely "latched" the top flap. No durability issues in materials or construction.
