Folding Hand Crafted Wooden Chess Set Chess Board for Kids and Adults 30 x 30 CM

Is this a set made by master craftsman at the top of their game, nope, and I wasn't expecting it to be.What you get is a nice little wooden chess set perfect for taking along when you travel or for working out chess problems at home.If you know of a kid who likes to play this would be a good upgrade from the standard "hollow plastic pieces and cardboard board" department store set.

It's really pretty, it came intact, correctly set up. All the pieces were there.... but it's not magnetic as advertised. That's the whole reason I wanted it for my young sister so she couldn't knock the pieces over accidentally so much. It's still a good set though and we played several games immediately upon receiving it.

Overall, I like this chess board. I do have an issue with the magnets. Due to polarity, the magnets are stronger when flipped over in some cases. Half of the pieces had the magnet oriented in the weaker orientation. It does not look like quality control considered that in the installation. This would help some; however, the magnets are still weak. I added little rare-earth magnets to the bottom of each piece, and this made the magnetic strength enough to reliably stay attached even when the board is tilted. The manufacturer should consider using stronger magnets. It would be a bit more expensive, but much better.

I love the hand carved pieces and carrying case. I'm teaching my grand kids how to play

Got this for 14YO grandsons that taught themselves to play. They love it. Much nicer than expected for the price.

This chess set is super light, very well crafted, and I am sincerely in love at how organized it is and how well presented it is, it is a little bit smaller than a regular set but it lacks nothing, and is the perfect set for learning and playing on the go.10 out of 10 for me
