This is the one you need to reach your gutters on
a one story house. I have the Cosco 6ft. ladder which is perfect for reachingHigh places in the house, but it's not tall enough for me (5'4")to reach the gutters to see in them to clean and seal them. This 8ft. ladder is PERFECT. I Also own a 17ft. Little Giant, but that weighs a ton and would have to be used extended, not A-Frame and standing on that on tiny 1 inch wide steps wasn't anything I was interested in doing. The steps on the Cosco ladders are nice and wide and the plastic platform makes me feel so much more safe and stable. I prefer using a tall ladder in A-Frame. Then you have the shelf and the very top plastic to hold tools, paint, paper towels... Whatever you need. Not only is this ladder comfortable, sturdy and stable, it weighs a FRACTION of the Little Giant ladder. I would place a bet that BOTH Cosco ladders together, weigh less than the Little Giant. I have them both hanging together on one Rubbermaid ladder holder. As soon as I received the 8ft. ladder today I started cleaning my gutters, sealing some leaky seams and replaced some gutter covers. I stood on the platform and felt very, very safe.I love everything about this ladder! Its carrying handle, it's VERY light weight *even for an 8ft. ladder*, its function and its stability. The price also can't be beat for this ladder.Don't hesitate on this one! If you're female, don't particularly like unstable heights, get this ladder!I would give it 10 stars if I could. It's really that good!

Amazingly Lightweight, Sturdy, Easy To Use & Store 8-Foot Ladder
This is an amazingly lightweight ladder to be so very sturdy.Normally, lightweight ladders are flimsy and heavy ladders provide stability, but in this case, Cosco has designed an 8 foot ladder that is so lightweightit can easily be carried (when folded) with one hand in the middle, and yet when it is unfolded and in-use it provides a surprisingly stableand sturdy feel , like a ladder weighing far more.It also opens for use and closes for transport or storage very easily:just flip out two black plastic locking hinges, and it is ready to fold together.Unfold the ladder and flip those black plastic locking hinges back in place, and the ladder is as sturdy as anyone could expect. Most of the steps are silver aluminum, but the top useable step isblack plastic and much deeper than the steps below it. This topblack plastic step is designed to be used as a step, and is very stable. The black plastic segment above it, however, is just a shelf not designedto support a lot of weight.I cannot imagine a better-designed 22-pound lightweight 8 foot ladder, and at a little more than $120 it is priced very competitively.

A little old ladies dream ladder!
I read the review of the 70 year old lady with a healthy fear of falling and found it very helpful. Well I’ll be 70 in September, I’m 5ft tall and still like to do whatever things around my home I can. Things I can do that won’t cause me harm. My mom had very bad osteoporosis and so far I’ve avoided it by drinking scotch, good reasonably priced wine, a lot of cheese and good cheap bacon!I already have a three step lightweight ladder, a lightweight 6 ft ladder with the top safety handle, and a collapsible 12 foot extension ladder. All light enough for me to carry myself and use without having 911 on autodial! We just started painting the entire interior of our house. My 6ft worked okay on the 8 ft ceiling areas but the living room is 9 ft. Too much stretching and chance of mis-stepping. I also have wonderful beams over the living room that some fool painted white. This ladder means I can make them look like wood again without a broken hip. I have also thought of a number of other projects this ladder will make easier and safer. Sturdy, good hand grips, light and easy to move.If you’re wondering what my husband is doing all this time, he has been helping, but isn’t a diehard DIY like I have always been. His redeeming quality is he likes to cook!! I finish a project, tired and hungry and I get to relax and have dinner and drinks served to me!! No ladies, you can’t have his name and address, it took me till 50 years old to find him and I’ve told him he’s stuck with me! I’ll treasure my new ladder like I do my cookin’ man!

This is a very sturdy ladder.
The old saying you get what you pay for applies to this ladder. It is very sturdy, works great, easy to use and is very lite weight for this type of ladder. The handle on the side of it to carry the ladder is a great feature. I really like the way the tray to hold a bucket of paint, or other items is handy and made very well too. Good buy and good product.

Great Ladder!
I bought this ladder based on several reviews of how sturdy it is for older people. I'm 69 and have 10 foot ceilings, but still want to be able to change my own lightbulbs to say the least. This ladder is perfect! It's as sturdy as they said it is, I feel safe when I'm on it. Love the weight and the side carrying handle so I can get it easily in and out of the garage any time to any place in or out of the house. If you feel a little shakier than you used to on a ladder, this is the one you want to buy.

Great Ladder
I bought this ladder for a home with 9 foot ceilings. I did not buy a multi-use ladder because they would be too heavy for my wife.Pro: The handle-lock makes it easy to carry. Surprisingly stable for something so light-weight. The top has two trays that make it very easy to do home-improvement projects. Great reach for indoor and outdoor projects. Excellent weight rating.Con: One of the trays at the top has a flimsy cover. The handle-lock feels flimsy as well. Expensive.Overall: Very usable for general home purposes. However, the price prevents it from receiving 5 stars.
