Great water shoes - great price!
I read the reviews carefully before I ordered these water shoes (in green with the white trim). My son is 21 months old with wide, size 6.5 feet.Sizing - Since they did not come in half sizes, I got the size 7 and they fit great with a little room to grow and last him all summer. They are plenty wide and the pull string in the back is great for making it a snug fit. In the reviews I noticed a few folks mention that the pull cord in the back was much too long. I looked at it and I will just cut it a little shorter or just tie it in knots until it's short enough. Super easy fix!Smell - I did notice that it did smell like rubber when I opened the package. But, the soles are rubber...so it's expected. I am not concerned.Style and quality - I think these are good quality shoes, even for the low cost. They are solidly made and seem like they will put up with lots of running around by my little guy. The style is also great. My son hasn't worn them in the water yet, but he's had them on in the house for a few hours now and his feet don't have any marks on them.

Perfect for one season
One complaint: the string coming from the back to tighten the shoe to foot is long and trails behind. He has yet to trip over it, but if some kid was walking closely behind him they will step on it.As a newer parent I still sometimes forget that my son is growing at a near alarming rate. There's a wealth of great options to play dress up and you can really pay a lot for children's clothes---but while I want my son to look nice, I have to remember: he doesn't car much how he looks. It's all me. Like buying high end dog food. Dogs don't care, they'll eat anything. The belief that there's sirloin in there is being sold to me, not the dog. Same with kids. I can spend $300 on a selection of clothes from Gap that he will wear just as well as from Target...only there I spend 1/2 the cost.To the point: these shoes. They will last him one summer. One. He's three years old. Next year he may be 23 for all I know. Water shoes were needed for this summer. They'll be donated by Fall. These fit well, look fine, cost less than $10.

Perfect for Twin Boys
Got these shoes for twin three year olds to wear most of the time while on a cruise. They are very vocal and would have complained if there were any issues with them. They always wanted to wear them and they actually stayed on, no matter what the boys were doing. The went on water slides, the pool, and the beach. During all the activities the water shoes stayed on their feet, which is one of the things I was worried about. I'm very happy with my purchase. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because some of the stitching along the sides appeared to be coming undone, but I will say that is hasn't seemed to impact the integrity of the shoes and they haven't come apart anywhere, so the stitching that is coming off must be more cosmetic than anything else.

for a family who is used to passing shoes like this down to younger siblings year after year
These shoes worked out really well for my son to wear to the pool, water park, etc. They fit as expected and the drawstring/toggle combo kept them from slipping off of my son's narrow feet.I only rated them 4 stars as I'm not sure how long a pair will hold up and last. The soles appear as if they will wear down quickly. Given the price, I don't see this as a problem.. They aren't going to fit my son next summer anyway....but, for a family who is used to passing shoes like this down to younger siblings year after year, I don't expect that these would work.If you're looking for a water shoe that looks nice, fits well, and will get you through a summer, these are great.

New Starbay Water Shoes
I ordered a pair of these shoes for my 21 month old son. He's currently in a size 5 shoe but I ordered a size 6 knowing that he'll soon need the larger size anyway. For the time being I'm just using the string on the back to tighten the shoes. My son loves them. He likes the way they feel and it's sometimes difficult to get him to take them off. I ordered them so he could play safely in his toddler pool in our backyard- knowing he would want to get in and out of the pool and run around the yard. So all in all, good, affordable, and comfortable shoes for the little guy. Thanks!

Bought 1, then bought 2 more!
Purchased first as a gift, then purchased for my chunky 2 year-olds feet. These shoes are perfect for him! Has worn them 3 days now, all day, in water, sand, and climbing rocks. Easy to put on with dry or wet feet; his chunky feet have no issue getting in or out of them with the sizing band that we can adjust at any time. Easy to run in water then hang dry to get the sand off while he naps. Cannot comment on arch support as a 2 year-old can't tell you if his arches are supported and N/A was not an option, so I guess no because they have pretty flat insides, although the insides are cushy to the finger touch.

If only they would stay ON
My son has spina bifida and cannot walk without braces and walkers. This means, at 4 years old, he crawls when at the pool/beach. His skin is extra sensitive, and he gets wounds very easily (and they don't heal easily). So water shoes are an absolute MUST for him. One of his feet was clubbed at birth, and is still a little oddly shaped. As a result, shoes don't like to stay on him. I bought these thinking with the drawstring back they would stay on better than some of the alternatives. We had another pair with a drawstring back that worked really well, he just torn them up after wearing them to the pool all summer. I was disappointed with these because the spring is VERY lose in the piece that is supposed to keep the string tight. As a result, it doesn't keep it tight AT ALL. For someone without my son's special issues, this very well may not be a problem, but for him, it was a big problem. The shoe CONSTANTLY fell off and had to be put back on. I even went so far as to take the piece off of the last pair of water shoes and replace the piece on this pair, which helped, but it seems the string is thinner as well.
