BEAUTIFULLY AND SIMPLY WRITTEN BEST BOOK
As an occupational therapist with over 18 years experience, I could not wait to get this book. I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. Dr. Shad has taken the complicated concept of how the brain works and put it into simple terms for anyone to understand. I was very excited to see this type of information in print and hitting the mainstream. Dr. Shad has always been a pioneer, he is bold, honest and brave. His love for people and love to empower them is clear. I found this book to be enjoyable to read. I recommend this book to my patients, family and friends. This book finally puts into print the truth of how the brain is made for infinite possibilities. If you have ever been curious as to why you haven't been able to change your life even though you have done so many things to make changes, GET THIS BOOK. Once you have this information, you will know how to own your thoughts, make the changes and own your life...if you are willing to make a different choice. You are worthy to receive this book.

Great Book
I have had one of Shad Helmstetter's books, What to Say when You Talk to Yourself for some time now and it was very good. But this is is even better, it not only tells how to talk to your self for better results in life, but why it is important because of the neuroplasticity of the brain how self talk, negative and positive, has a profound affect on our brain and how it affects life's outcomes. It helps one to understand how important our thoughts and the things we say to ourselves help determine the quality of our life for good or bad.

It is possible to change your destiny
A brilliant book. Written clearly - no professional slang, no incomprehensible long sentences. The author writes, as he speaks. I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. My understanding of human mind, is very close with those of the author. I developed different techniques to bringing changes. It was a great pleasure for me to see a professional that think in the same direction, and works with his own methods and techniques. I am looking forward to read more of his publications. Some of my thoughts I wrote in Notes, unfortunately in Russian. I wrote them for myself, but they are open to everyone interested.

Scientific
A bit intellectual and very scientific. Lots of repeating him this book, however, it is a good read. I would suggest that anyone who is interested in science and health read this book. Not just another health book but new breakthroughs in the brain and how it works. The ability to change certain patterns of our thinking, this book will explain how we can reprogram our brains and thus thinking to have a better life. As man thinkers, so is he. Change your mindsets, your thinking and you can see what happens in this book. The only thing I dont like about books or music is long and drug out introductions so I gave this a 4. I don't think you have to convince anyone, just write a book and let the reader decide if they are interested and like it.

One flaw, but the rest is gold that overcomes it
Everything about it I love except one part, a very most important part that almost caused me to give it 4 stars. There is not a big push to empower people to write and record their own self talk programs like in What To Say When You Talk To Yourself, there is a big push to buy the self talk recordings Dr Shad Helmstetter has recorded though. Luckily, however, and to the saving grace, the recordings are optimal, *and* you can glean the process for creating the self talk programs to listen to by reading the book. But I didn't get the feeling it was of great importance to empower the reader to create their own recordings, which I find greatly disappointing. The issue with the above is that there are only a select few self talk recordings in the store the book promotes, and they're all general enough, not very specialized. What if someone wanted to program themselves, in the manner described in the book, with setting personal boundaries? Or program themselves with becoming a better leader? There isn't any, at the time of this writing, of those very specific kinds of self talk programs in the store.Again, luckily, that's not too big an issue because the gold of this book far outweighs *any* negative, and the only negative I've found so far is the lack of "you can record your OWN self talk recordings, and here's exactly how." The book does describe how and why Dr Helmstetter records the self talk recordings in the store which is sufficient enough to follow on your own, and to improve upon. Now as for the good, where to start: the main 7 rules of neuroplasticity in and of itself are *great* for the programming of your own mind, with and without self talk, although they are great for creating your own self talk anyway.1) mindfulness, 2) choice, 3) intention, 4) focus, 5) repetition, 6) emotion, 7) belief. All of these elements can and should be taken into account when making self talk recordings, but they are also great for promoting success in any part of your life anyway. I've already taken on a few mindsets from these rules relating to my own self talk, my own programming. For instance: "intending to have an outstanding day, choosing to have an outstanding day, focusing on having an outstanding day, being mindful of my own ability to have an outstanding day, defining and *choosing* to feel the positive emotions of having an outstanding day, and believing I can and will have an outstanding day today and every day here forward."This book is a lot more than just self talk, as I was initially expecting, and I am pleasantly surprised at the personal development gold I got from it.I will and would recommend it to any who wants more out of their life, wants more out of their brain, and wants to be the very best they can be every single day, every single moment.

This new research can change your life!
I had read Shad Helmstetter's book entitled, "What To Say When We Talk to Ourselves" back in the 80's. It was a powerful book allowing me to understand the importance of choosing to focus on what I tell myself! His new book is based on the newest research of neuroscience yet shared in terms that are easy for us to understand. I couldn't put it down! I consider it a must read by all of us! It teaches us how to remain younger and AWARE, rewiring our brain for success. He shares significant tools that are easy to put into practice. With positive self talk, we are talking to our brain! We can give it clear directions. We learn to mind the mind, rather than the mind controlling us! 5 STARS!
