Get this one....
This is the sound bar I’ve been searching for.I tried the jbl 2.1 DB, Polk s2 and Yamaha 207.... all do not compare to how this one sounds. Granted, this is a 3.1 and that helps. The rear and center channel are nice and clear. The max volume is great and doesn’t distort. I don’t have an LG tv but this thing connected just fine with the tv I have. Bluetooth is effortless once connected. The remote is solid and easy to use. Really like that I can skip songs on my phone from the remote.ALL of the functions and options this thing gives are fantastic. DTS Virtual X works fine but I really like the bass boost setting.Small subwoofer compared to others but it really hits. I like that it doesn’t take up too much space and booms as much as it does. I am really happy with this purchase. Glad I sent back the Yamaha and jbl. I wanted something that would work well with the tele, games and music. This thing takes care of all of it. It’s a very solid sound bar. Best I’ve had. Very aesthetically pleasing. Like that there is no cloth other than the sub. Easy to keep clean. Enjoy. Cheers.

SL6Y pairs well with SPK8-S rear speakers
Bought the LG SL6Y 3.1 channel soundbar w/ woofer to pair with my older (2011) LG LED TV after having some minor but annoying pairing issues with an older 2.1 sony model that is now working great with my mother-in-laws tv. I also paired this soundbar with the LG SPK8-S wireless rear speakers which were onsale at bestbuy, for a full 5.1 surround sound experience that I can easily switch to use in my living room, or outside on my projector for pool parties. So far so good.I'm a stickler for researching products before buying online, esp. online, and decided to go with LG because it would limit any potential pairing issues with an older LG TV. The TV doesn't have any ARC support, so no comment on that, but with the optical cable provided everything pairs seamlessly with my Comcast remote. It take a little bit of tweaking and fooling with the speaker level and sound settings to get the sound where I wanted it, but sounds great now that it's there.I considered the larger 5.1 soundbar, but read that when paired with the rear speakers they are relegated to 7.1 and then virtually useless outside of subtle side sounds, where the 3.1 relegates the rear speakers to 5.1 so you can still get voices and birds, etc. coming behind you. They work as intended. I also thought long and hard on ATMOS, which I think would sound great in my living room, but since I also wanted to use the soundbar outside with my projector, ATMOS would be rendered useless out in the open space, so couldn't justify the extra cost on ATMOS engineered soundbars, (since the bounce the sound off the ceiling for top sound). In any case, it is a good sounding soundbar once you get the speakers levels and bass/treble settings adjusted to your liking. The 3.1 gives you good constant dialogue with the desired added side effects of surround, and the bass isn't overwhelming but gives the extra punch needed for those dynamic moments that need a little extra "boom" to really experience; paired with the available rear speakers, it provides good full 5.1 sound for your entertainment needs.I didn't give it 5-stars, as the sound settings were a bit tedious to get dialed in, and cost was bit high, (which I get paying for the name and all), but all in all it is a solid 4, even a 4.5 and I would have no problem recommending this soundbar to a friend.Note: weather hasn't permitted any outdoor movie nights yet, but I will update my review to include how well (or not) the soundbar system works with my Optoma projector as soon as I get the chance.

SL6Y 3.1 model plus the SPK8-S rear speaker kit .
We bought a new LG tv and even though the sound was OK I decided to add this sound bar plus I bought the rear spear kit also . We added just the sound bar to start and it was outstanding !! Really improved the sound using the " DTS virtual sound " . After a couple of weeks I added the SPK8-S rear speaker kit and watching movies and certain TV shows now sounds like your in a theater . With everything hooked up I use the ASC setting on the sound bar system now and it works great .P.S the rear sound bar kit still needs wires running from the wireless receiver to the speakers so it's not totally wireless . Just a heads up on that .

Sound improvement for a great TV
I bought this Sound Bar to get the full sound quality of my LG OLED TV. The internal speakers just are not enough, connecting the LG SL6Y to the optical port of the TV makes for a great visual and audio experience. It intergrates with the TV remote control for ease of operation, I'm completely satisfied with this product.

Great sound bar!
Bought this when it was more than half off on Amazon. Bought this sound bar because I wanted to be able to listen to the movie dialogue clearly. Got this 3.1 because I read that it has dedicated center speaker for dialogue. The sound is much better than my flat screen tv for sure. But in terms of dialogue, I think it helped a bit, but not as clear as I thought it would be. The vast improvement in sound that I can notice came from the Bass, or the sub-woofer that come with it. But overall having this sound bar is a great improvement to my tv speakers.

No Bluetooth Security Lock
Great sound but the wireless subwoofer disconnects at times. Not often enough to make it a deal breaker. But what is pretty trashy and I didn't find out until long after I past the return window, this system has absolutely no Bluetooth Security. There is mention of it online and it says to turn on via the "function" button and there is even a "BT Lock" displayed on the soundbar but even with that enabled other devices can connect to it. In other words random people that can see your system on Bluetooth can connect and start pumping tunes. So if you have acres of space, this isn't a worry, but if you live in an apartment or someplace with neighbors/random folk roaming around... be prepared for a nice overnight awakening when ppl get drunk and want to have fun on Bluetooth. LG normally makes good products, quite surprised this missed the mark with such a small feature.

Poor quality of design
The sound bar failed after 4 hours - display would not work and only a fixed center channel worked at low level. I would call this an out of the box failure. Additionally the wireless rear speaker option was not really wireless
