Loud for residential use. This is definitely meant to be rack-mounted at a data center.
For what it is, this unit is great. It is supposed to be rack-mounted at a data center, where airflow is king and noise is no big deal. So far, I'm impressed with the unit, but it is definitely not meant for residential operation. I had a Cyberpower "line interactive" model that was far less expensive, and the first time a solid storm came along while I was using my computer - pow! there goes my PSU and who knows what else inside the PC took a hit. If you're using a line-interactive UPS, get rid of it now. It may work fine for power sag, but it has a several-millisecond cutover time from line to battery, and that is far too long - the damage is already done. You need an "online" UPS - one that runs all of the connected equipment on battery power at all times, period. My advice to Cyberpower would be to create a residential unit that is sized to handle all the load a 15 or 20-amp circuit could throw at it, but in a form factor that is better for residential usage, and without the need for a 70CFM fan running at full blast all the time. When this thing switches to battery power, it sounds like an absolute wind tunnel when both high-static pressure fans fire up at the same time. During standard operation, there is a single 70CFM fan blowing (probably at max RPM) at all times, and in a quiet office, it is distracting. In a residential setting, the unit will be installed in a much cooler, much quieter, and much less cluttered environment. They could repackage this in a form factor that would allow a nice 140mm magnetic bearing fan that would run dead quiet most of the time. If they made a fully-online model that could handle say 1800 watts (15 amp circuit, 120 volts), or 2400 watts (20 amp circuit, 120 volts), but with no option to expand, and no rack-mount rails - well that would be the perfect home office UPS. I hope Cyberpower reads these reviews!

The FAN is always on regardless if it is full charge. No ways checking battery status.
The fan is always ON when the AC Input is plugged. It will not turn off. There is no way of telling the battery level or if the EBM is fully charged. How do we know if it is working again?

Great Double Conversion UPS. Fantastic Price.
If you are looking for a double conversion UPS that does the job without breaking the bank this unit is for you. All the controls can be accessed without connecting to a computer or network. I am using this ups without being conneted to any computer. This unit is very big. It is also very heavy. This ups is built like a tank. It is rack mountable or you can set it up as a tower with the tower stand provided. That is a very nice gesture from cyberpower because most manufactures tower stands are optional at a price of $75-$120.00. With this unit they are free which is a big deal. The OL1000RTXL2U has a cooling fan that is always on. The fan is as loud as an hunter whole room air purifier on medium or the number 2 setting. Which means the fan is pushing a good volume of air. Will the fan bother most people? It depends where you put it. But I would say no. This ups has no problem syncing to a generator. Because of the fan this ups never gets hot with 24/7 operation. According to the manual it is required to do cleaning of filters or inflow screens every so often. The unit has performed flawlessly for 4 months now. It is a great unit.

Costly item but worth in the long run
I love the Cyberpower products. Have beenm purchasing this brand for over 15 years. I have verified purchase at least 21-24 1500 versions. I have only had about 3-4 fail. And maybe 2-3 die due to batteries. Got new batteries and still going today. This unit, I only got this unit after moving and being somewhat off grid at times. Turns out if you do not have a generator that is also an inverter they will not use generator power to recharge. If I had a whole house genrator this would not be a problem, I have 12k portable gen using 50amp to my fuse panel. I called Cyber Power and they explained to me how their units work. I was suggested to get their ONLINE units that have a setting to use Generator mode. This was an expensive purchase but I feel it was worth it. The unit is a little loud when it has to be battery mode, considering I would be off the power grid and generator, I am ok with this. So it sits next to my PC. I have a gaming PC and ONLY my computer is plugged intot his unit. I have 14-18 percent with aroun 59 minutes run time. I can tell you it lasted my about 45-48 minutes when I tested it. Plenmty of time for me to power up the generator. I have my 2 huge 49 inch monitors on 2 smaller 1500 ups ion their own UPS in fact and they about 85 minutes run time. At the end of the day, I made the right choice for me and it is very power to handle what I need. I am going to get one more for my main network that will be used my my 2 different internet connections, a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Enterprise router and a Ubiquiti 24 port swirch. I did test this on that setup and had around 64 minutes. Make sure you get the right unit for your needs and enviormnment. Cyberpower has done good for me.

Perfect for high-end electronics
I wanted a true inverter UPS for my home theatre equipment as I am about to have a whole-home generator installed, and wanted to make sure that the UPS was capable of providing clean power to the equipment. After reviewing products from several companies, I realized this model from CyberPower was going to give me the best features at the best price. This unit is typically designed to be rack mounted, but i have mine sitting on the bottom shelf of the table that holds my AVR and other associated electronics. Some have indicated that the fans on this unit are loud, but I have not found them noticeable at all except when it is totally quiet in the house, and even then, the fan noise is barely noticeable. While this type of UPS is much more expensive than others with similar capacity, it is a fraction of the cost of the equipment connected to the device. Highly recommended.

Facile à configurer et protège les équipements contre les mini-pannes de courants de quelques minutes répétitives.

Very reliable and works exactly as expected to create an isolated power supply. The fan is very noisy, even in an office environment and my loads are never higher than 40% of its rating, so I should be able to slow down the fan a bit or create a custom water cooling mechanism. You definitely can't keep this in the same room as any human in a working environment due to the fan noise.
