SUPER
The first sprayer I got was defective. The screw mechanism in the handle did not work properly. I discovered this by the video on Chapin's website, demonstrating how their TriLock system works, and for which Chapin should be commended. Great video. I emailed Chapin and got no response after three days (actually no response ever). I emailed Amazon, describing the problem, and within one hour, while I was still answering emails, I got an email back from customer service, telling me a replacement order was already placed, one-day shipping, and a link to a label for printing out to send back the defective product. How can you beat that for fast service. Amazon is GREAT! The replacement sprayer has been working perfectly, but I really had to learn how that lock system works. If any other purchaser does find it frustrating to figure out, go to the website and watch the demo video. Once you get the hang of it, it's really so simple and super. The quality of construction and metal material is tops. The tank is nicely enameled on the outside in shiny red that appears heavy duty durable. Coated on the inside as said in manufacturer's description. When filled with solution (I bought it for weed spraying exclusively about my 2.5 acres), it is too heavy to carry around. I use bungee cords to strap it on my little garden dolly and wheel it around. I looked for a better option than hand pumping, but found only one portable battery operated which is all plastic (hate plastic anything) and the ATV 12-volt battery kind are overkill. So I reluctantly settled on the Chapin because it is advertised as professional quality. And it is. 20 fast and easy pumps last over half the 3.5 gallon tank. Doing all my acreage takes only pumping 20 pumps twice, when the old 2 gallon Solo took 30 and more pumps over a dozen times. The Solo took over 30 pumps even when new, but as it got older required more frequent exhausting pumping until it just quit. Even the "feel" of the pumping action of the Chapin substantiates a precision-made product The wand is not so long as I like, 24", but better than 18" as on so many box-store sprayers. It is all quality metal and too well made and its performance too good to replace with the 36" extension wand I bought for the Solo, which has a plastic nozzle as opposed to Chapin's brass nozzles. There are two unadjustable; one broad spray, the other spot spray. There is a handy holster attached to the side of the tank for carrying the wand and extra nozzle or more. It is black plastic, but even the plastic appears durable. I don't like Chapin's customer service (they could have at least acknowledged my email). I love the product. And once again I have to laud Amazon for its professional integrity and superior business policies of standing behind the products it sells, which make just about all other giant corporations small in those qualities.

Excellent product
Purchased this sprayer to use with solvent based sealer to apply to my landscape curbing. It worked extremely well and provided a strong volume of sealer that penetrated the concrete. Easy to clean with lacquer thinner. Just follow the recommendations and you can't go wrong. A very heavy duty constructed product. Definitely commercial grade.

Believe the negative reviews!
I purchased this based on the positive reviews about how well it worked to seal paver driveways. I agree, it worked really well and my driveway took less than an hour! I was able to get the sealer in the sand without spreading the sand all over! Quick and easy. I filled the can 3 times and on the 3rd fill, that's where everything came crashing down. I was made 5 feet from being done and the can would no longer seal. If it doesn't seal, the lid does not lock-in. During the practice runs and during the prior fills, the top locked, I pumped the handle, and good to go. This time. no matter what I tried, the top would not lock into place. It went into the position but it never locked. I took a rag and wiped the seal, I turned the top locking mechanism every way that I could, I took it off and put it back on. Each time, a loose fit, and I could hear air wooshing out when I pumped - never heard this before. So yep, believe the negative reviews, the seal does not last long! If I knew then what I know now, I would have filled the can to the top with sealer and I probably would have been able to get through the entire job before it broke - hint, hint. I was afraid it would be too heavy to move around since it does not have a true handle. Now, I know it would not have been. Well, Amazon is getting this back and I will find a different brand sprayer to seal my pavers.

Works like a charm!
I purchased this to substitute a method of using a roller and paint tray... it takes munch longer and the results aren't always uniform. As a novice, this unit was amazing! Like anything else, there is a learning curve. It's ease of use was important because I have never used anything like this before. The time saved and the results are well worth the cost! In terms of hours, I got more than a return on my investment... on one project! The craftsmanship is excellent in every respect. As someone the will use this periodically, I am confident this unit will last a lifetime:) I was hesitant only because of so few reviews, but I did more research online, and it was a lot of positive feedback. I know it may be cliche to say, but I don't usually write reviews. With this sprayer I felt compelled. I would highly recommend! BTW, I have used this with Thompsons all purpose sealer to seal about 1,200 sq ft of pavers. Cut the application time by 70%, conservatively.

Loosen the piece in the picture
Great sprayer. I am giving 4 stars because had it not been for YouTube I never would have figured this out. I would have had to send it back. I could not get the handle to lock correctly. After watching YouTube videos I saw that the piece on the handle was too tight to let the lock in spin. I took an adjustable wrench and held the piece in the picture and got it to loosen. It was just too tight

Sprayer the pros use
Works great for sealing my concrete landscape edge every year or three. Save a ton of money doing it myself and it’s super easy to do with this sprayer. Glad I found one slightly used on Amazon and for a significant discount.

Great durable sprayer.
These can's are more expensive but last forever if cared for properly. They have an even spray pattern and are easily changed. I like the durability of then when working.

dont believe the negative reviews
I was very hesitant to buy this sprayer because of the negative reviews claiming the seal leaks. Now that I have it I am convinced the people that had problems were using it incorrectly. There is definitely a "trick" to getting the assembly to seal properly. If you are mechanically inclined you can examine the mechanism and it will be apparent how it works. Otherwise, watch the excellent video that the manufacturer posted and you will have no problem getting it to seal properly. Pros: well made. everything important is made of metal (from the pictures i though the handle was plastic, but nope, its metal). Cons: The wand holder clipped to the side is plastic, and it rattles around making it feel cheap. but it does the job fine. The nozzle does continue to drip a lot after you release the trigger. This is probably unavoidable when using a big nozzle. The pipe between the nozzle and trigger is obviously full of fluid even after the trigger is released. Gravity is going to make it drip out. maybe with a finer nozzle or a thicker fluid this wouldn't happen... There is no safety pressure release valve. Theoretically, thats not a problem if you follow the manual, which says dont spray anything flammable, and drain the tank after each use. But overall I still give it 5 start and would recommend it to anyone thats considering it.
