Four of Us: Pasternak, Akhmatova, Mandelstam, Tsvetaeva Paperback – January 17, 2015

I know no Russian, and so can't comment from that point of view; but the poems as they appear in English here are powerful, and real English poetry. Also: I am all for presenting all translations of poetry together with the original, as is done here. Bravo. A labor of love that has paid off (tho not, sadly, I am sure, in dollars). I will read more in this translator 's series of Russian poems.

I liked that I got to read several poems from each four poets in one book. I'll be rereading this in the future and would like to read more from a couple of the poets.

A brief though enjoyable introduction to four major Russian poets. Made me want to read more of Akhmatova's and Tsvetaeva's poems.

Best poems were left behind... It is upsetting , as book did not demonstrated the beauty and power of best Russian poets.Remember - I am Russian and was raised on best books of World Classics .

A great representative selection of the Russian Avant Garde---Cyrillic alongside the English. If you are interested in learning more about some of the Slavic world's greatest poets, "The Four of Us" is a solid introduction. The volume is slim and quite portable---fit's nicely in handbag or book bag.

Potential buyers should know: a pretty good dual-language book.Unfortunately something called Kindle Direct Publishing, for some reason, has decided not to "allow Russian text in e-books," as the author explains on the last page of "Four Of Us." Which kind of defeats the purpose of trying to sell a product like a "dual-language e-book."To solve this little issue, the author has provided a link to a web page where he has published the poems with both Russian and English texts, as they were meant to be. Look for the link at the end of "Four Of Us."Thanks, Andrej, for finding a way to get around this nonsensical decision made by "Kindle Direct Publishing."And other buyers, beware!
