These are very high quality watercolor pencils!
The pigment is incredible and beautiful. I enjoy working with them and love how the medium moves once the water hits the color. Very nice.

Good artist-grade watercolor pencils
I saw this package of 6 Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils, and I jumped on them as the colors in this set were all colors I didn't have yet, and I really like the Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils that I have. This set comes in a cardboard blister pack, which wasn't a problem for me as I put them in one pocket of a pencil box. These pencils have some colors I wouldn't have bought open-stock, and they're a bit of an odd grouping. I love the red and magenta, and the blue and orange are nice, but I'd have rather had a second, darker yellow or a second blue - maybe Ultramarine. The green and yellow are light enough that they doesn't show the watercolor effect as much as the darker colors unless you mix them with something.Albrecht Durer are fairly soft, lay down smoothly, and I prefer using them on smooth rather than textured paper, although they worked fine on hot press and cold press watercolor paper as well as any paper that can handle a little water. You can use these pencils dry as colored pencils, use a slightly wet brush to wet accent points or use these pencils like watercolors. I do this by drawing heavily, then with a very slightly damp brush, brushing each color individually for a nice watercolor effect. Or if you want to mix colors, you can do that, too. I found the yellow very light, so expect to use a lot of yellow to a little blue or red. The pencils layer pretty well.By the way, if you use watercolor pencils as watercolors, most of these work well for that. Use a wet brush - but not too wet - on the tip of the pencil, rubbing the way you would a pan of watercolors. All the pencils in this set worked well this way except the green, which was so light used this way it was barely there even after I went over it twice. The rest were great to paint with, and of course bringing pencils with you for plein air painting can be more convenient than bringing a set of watercolor paints.I notice the two other reviews say they weren't clear that this was a set of 6 pencils. Perhaps Amazon listened, because that's now very clear. I'd have preferred these pencils came in a box - even a flimsy one - for storage, and a nice tin or heavy cardboard box would have been better.Would I recommend this set, 6 Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils? It depends. If you want to try Durers without paying for a larger set, I'd absolutely recommend them. If these are colors you want to use in your art, and you either use or want to try watercolor pencils, these would be a good choice. I'd have rather had a mixing set or at least a darker green, as that would have made the set more versatile. If you like the colors, these are worth a try - the soft cores (not quite as soft as Prisma Premiers) are smooth to work with. Overall I'm enjoying them.

Fantastic Pencils- Great Basic Pack Can Mix Many Colors Professional Quality
I have been working with colored pencils for quite a while. I work with regular pencils but I also use watercolor pencils too. There are many types of pencils. Some are weaker than others and then there is the professional level. These pencils are professional level.HOW THESE COMEThese come in a blister pack. They need to be put in a case. Be prepared for that.COLORSThe colors in this selection are fantastic. You can mix or blend many colors using them.QUALITYThese are professional level. When you use these, you are getting top quality. The colors are saturated and the pencil does not need to have a lot dispersed on the paper to make a vivid watercolor with water. I put these up at the top of the list of professional pencils I have used. They are right up there with Caran D'Ache. Nyoni is not quite as nice in comparison but that is also still a decent set of watercolor pencils.HOW TO USEYou can do any of the following with this pencil set:-Color and then use water to disperse the paint. Let dry COMPLETELY before adding layers-Use a wet brush and take the paint from the pencil and apply to the paper.-Dip the pencil in the water for a moment to get it very softened. Add to paper.-Use this to color in tiny areas of detail in watercolor paintings.DO THEY LOOK GOOD DRY?These look great used dry, but honestly, you can use regular colored pencils that way. These really shine in the watercolor department.PHOTOI posted a photo I did of these pencils using only a graphite pencil for the gray and dark contrast. Every other pencil of color in that drawing is from this set only.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a great way to start with professional quality pencils. The color assortment is great.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. This set is great. If you can not afford a big set of these pencils, this set is a great way to start. The colors are all very useful and mix/blend well.

Beautifully blendable & don't bleed through my Condren planner
The media could not be loaded. I'm very pleased with the quality and softness of these Germany-made Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor aquarelle pencils.I ordered them cuz my college emeritus watercolor class professor had said the brand made good watercolor paints.I was worried I've have trouble with these pencils like I have some other brands. But nope, as you see in video once I laid down some color in my next day's Erin Condren Planner page, and used my water brush (not included in this set) to blend, it worked wonderfully.Erin Condren pages are high quality, thick paper. I don't know yet if they'll bleed through my Happy Planner pages, for instance. (will let you know when I review those.)But I know now these will work great on actual watercolor paper in my fancy art book.or to frame and hangThey'll be very handy in the fieldFor my plein air paintingor urban sketching or travel sketchingOr journaling of any kind, art journaling or otherwise , etc. Etc.Or adult coloring booksThese would make a nice gift for professional painter or novice artist or journaler or anybody who likes any of the above.Just wish they came in a better case. Will have to find one.Happy 🎨 arting all!

Product is not as described as pictures
The product is 6 pencils not as pictures. I bought it from last batch, and it didn't have clear written description of products, so I was misleading with the pictures shown.
