The Polaroid Book (Taschen's 25th Anniversary Special Editions) Review: Instant Camera Karma - Great Book. If you love Polaroid cameras and photos as I do then this is a "Must Have." Digital photography is wonderful but buying my first Polaroid "Swinger" was a life changing event. The joy and anticipation of an instant photograph defined my "I want it now" generation. This books shows the work of many photographers who understood the value of the moment and appreciated the unique character of Polaroid film. That character comes thru on every page. It also includes a short essay on Edwin Land's meeting with Ansel Adams and a timeline of Polaroid cameras (except for the Polavision movie camera). Thanks Taschen for this and all the wonderful books you do and thanks Edwin Land. Review: This book is a great collector's item! - Great book to keep on the coffee table. I love it, all it promised and more. Perfect addiction to my collection.

Great book
If you love polaroids, I think you'll enjoy this book. It's fun, a good size, and it also gave me great new ideas for polaroid projects.

Beautiful and Interesting, but beware: this is no PG-13 book!
I just received my copy of the Taschen 25th Anniversary Edition Polaroid Book and I do love it but I was surprised at the level of nudity throughout it. At one point you can't go two pages without some woman being completely nude. and I get that it's "for the sake of art" but why are there no nude men in the book if that is the case? It just seems a little bit biased to the female form and a little too exposing. What happened to the powers of subtlety and suggestion, something I would be more in favor of in the long run? So buyers beware: if you're looking for a little peepshow along with some great art then this is your book, but if you've got kids in the house, then think twice about having this lying around.

It's Interesting
It's a neat flip through, but nothing too special. I will look through it a few times before it hits the shelves and collects dust, but I'm sure if Polaroid ever gets brought up in a conversation, I'll probably bring it out and say "Take a look at this neat book." Other than that, I wasn't terribly impressed as the theme just seems to be haphazard polaroids. There is nothing wrong with that I suppose, but it left me desiring better.
