Great piece of kit
Short version. Very comfortable. Very adjustable. Built for larger frame then able to scale it tight as needed. Probably not best choice for concealed carry or 1-handed operation.Long version. This is my 3rd piece of Blackhawk! Spec-Ops gear. For whatever reason the things they build make sense to my brain and how it thinks this should all be. NutNfancy calls it a "system" and that's what I call everything that's a group of stuff that works together anyway, so basically this Blackhawk stuff always seems to be the only thing (besides Galco) that fits my system perfectly... So first I bought a special stock from Blackhawk! for my shotgun (love it!), then I bought a load bearing Blackhawk! belt for my IWB Galco holster. 100% satisfied. Then I thought that would be it, I would be set for a while. I casually looked at shoulder holsters but figured my Galco would suffice until I could get a Bravo Concealment... But here's the thing... I don't need to concealed carry all the time in this state. Some times open carry is okay... in houses, private property, etc..Warning now, personal stuff for context. My rear end doesn't like to hold onto anything past pocket change weight. Cellphones, wallets, pocket knife, doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how tight I can get a belt. (Basically I'm all shoulders, no butt). It will be either slightly loose enough to where it does no good or so tight my insides stop functioning properly. And yes the belt goes around my waist but it still upsets my digestion if I get too tight. Very frustrating! So I started looking specifically at holsters because this couldn't continue through the summer for just normal carry. These days you want to be carrying 24x7 and silly to mess with the IWB stuff around the house, camping, etc.. in the summer. Anyway. After struggling 4-5 times, maybe even more looking for a shoulder holster that made sense to my system I said to myself, "duh, I need to check Blackhawk!" and this was the second item that popped up. The first didn't have a mag pouch I think, and this one did, and some nifty attachment points, so I instantly knew this is exactly what I wanted. I've been wearing it nonstop for a week and it's just GREAT!As others have said, not the best for a concealed carry system. Not going to unholster 1-handed. This is for if you need it on you and ready but comfortable, safe, and secure for a busy active life. Funny thing is, the thing that made me 100% sure is another reviewer had also said they didn't have a butt, got this, problem solved, and I was like, okay, finally! So yes. My sidearm doesn't ever leave my side again. It's just under my arm instead of trying to pull my pants down all the time. In the fall and winter I'll go back to IWB but spring and summer and in the house its under my arm. If you are used to wearing a backpack like I am all day anyway then you will forget this is on immediately after putting it on. So, so so so nice. I put it on when I wake up and take it off when I go to bed and that's it. My first piece of real official "kit" for my "system" and I absolutely LOVE IT!Hope this helps someone. Carry consistently, Get training, be prepared, be safe.Take care everyone.

it seems to be a pretty universal fit for most sidearms
I am a big fan of this harness so far. The material is really durable, it seems to be a pretty universal fit for most sidearms. The spare magazine pouch is good as well but if you have a wider double stack-type magazine, it may not fit perfectly (12+ rounds). This works great for my 4" 1911 and an extra 8 round magazine of .45 ACP ammunition. The straps are adjustable and you should plan to spend some time tinkering with them to get it right. I bought this for backpacking and hiking because I am not a huge fan of leg mounted tactical holsters; I have seen some comments that the draw is slow but I think it is not bad actually. With a little practice you can draw quickly. Now, why 4 stars instead of 5? The shoulder straps, while lightly padded, do not offer much in terms of comfort on long all-day excursions. If the fit isn't spot on it can definitely chafe, or if the strap isn't completely on top of a shirt for example. Overall the material quality is there and it comes with a lifetime warranty, which is a big plus. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a chest mounted holster.

BLACKHAWK! Universal Spec-Ops Pistol Harness
Was looking for a holster to carry a Rock Island Armory Ultra, full size, high capacity 10mm handgun. Size wise it is a 1911 frame and slide with a grip to handle a 16rd magazine. This holster holds this gun great. The holster can be adjusted to work as a chest holster or a shoulder rig. The 6 D-rings give great versatility. Blackhawk! construction is excellent. Definitely made to handle rough use. The strap that goes over your shoulder is very comfortable and you hardly know you're wearing this rig even though this gun is not a lightweight. Overall this rig offers a lot of adjustment. For walking around in the field, working in the yard, hunting, fishing, hiking, ATVing, etc. I don't think you will find a more comfortable holster. Definitely nicer than carrying a gun on your hip for hours. And the price is almost half of another similar rig that Amazon offers. The other guns that I have tried in this holster are, 1911 Gov't & Commander .45, Beretta 92F and a M&P 9. Tried a Glock 21 and the hold down strap just barely snapped closed. If there is any way to improve this holster it would be to lengthen the hold down strap 1/2" -3/4". If you've never tried a chest holster you would be surprised how nice they are.

Great hunting holster
Used this holster to carry my Glock 19 while hunting. Great, sturdy holster secured in place even with my hunting vest on.

Very well made, solid & easily adjustable.
Holster is great, except for one little problem in which Blackhawk is rectifying immediately. The pistol falls through where they missed stitching it together. I contacted the Manhattan, MT location since I live & work near by & sent them photos of it. They have one in house & will replace it. I am picking it up tomorrow. Sometimes stuff just slips through... Will update this when we've actually used it. I did try it on with my glock 29 in it & it seems very well made, solid & comfortable. Easy to adjust. Be aware that the contact info Amazon gives you for Blackhawk is incorrect & will put you in contact with Bushnell! They need to correct this.

Great for gen 4 G40 Glocks
Fits my gen 4 Glock 40 longslide perfectly. I just use mine open sight without a dot or light so it fits great but if you plan to use the MOS on yours you should go with a custom made from Alien Gear or better yet, Stoner Holster. Just my 2 cents
