HON 795LP 700 Series 42-Inch 5-Drawer Lateral File withroll-Out and Posting Shelves, Black

I was concerned about ordering this file cabinet because of other reviews citing shipping damage. Mine arrived well packed on a wooden pallet with no damage at all. The corners were well protected but it would be possible to damage the body of the cabinet if something banged into it in shipping. The cabinet is well built although not quite as sturdy as the Hon cabinets we purchased 20 years ago.

False advertising. This is NOT a Hon filing cabinet. There is no Hon emblem, there is no Hon serial number, paint is flaking off and the sliders are cheap Taiwanese sliders. I put files in the drawers and now it won't even close!

This is a good product. It's set up and getting filled beautifully. It was a large, heavy delivery and I needed help getting it set up. Totally worth the money to have it brought to my door. I think it's a bit more durable than the average metal filing cabinet. works well.

Great for our purposes. Slight dent in drawer when unpackaged but not a big deal. Has good capacity; built for durability. Very heavy (even empty) so keep in mind when you set it up. Need two strong men to move it. Overall, very satisfied.

Nice cabinet, as advertised, well built, come assembled, arrived ahead of time. Would recommend if you are looking for along lasting product and do not mind paying for it. Actually ordering the next size up for another office.

Arrived dented on one corner and the bottom drawer is not opening. If it was not shipped in such a poor package, I would have returned it the day I received it. It is also made cheaply, like a tin can, which is probably what made it dent to easily in transit.

This is a good cabinet as far as they go (not a furniture feature, after all). The correct setup requires that the unit be tilted such that the front is either 1/8" or 1/4" higher than the rear. You need a good socket wrench (one where the ratchet will not become separated from the socket, don't use a cheap one) and a good box level (same advice). And your floor is not level either by the way. The instructions are only adequate and there is no video online that I could find. It took about 90 minutes and accessing the nuts you need to turn on each side of the unit is not easy unless you have really small hands. Expect a trip or two to the hardware store to get it right.

I love this product but just a word of warning: it's dark inside the cabinet, so if you're trying to find something and you don't have great lighting in your room, it can be a challenge. I love that the product is all metal, and that it's easy to clean. I am using this cabinet to hold my art supplies and office supplies. I kind of wished it was a lighter color inside the cabinet portion like it is in the drawer portion. Also I have to be careful because the black paint does come off if you accidentally scratch it.
