Great addition to an audio kit!
These things are pretty sweet. Let me start by saying, I don't have a Rode Mic. I actually am using this with my Sennheiser EW 112P mics, which to be fair are a little on the big side for this system, but it still works. I read one review that said it bulges, and it definitely does, but if you only put it in about half way, you don't get as bad of a bulge and it gives the outcome I was hoping for, which was a way to hide the mic without getting rubbing noise. I don't love the tape that comes with it, and I almost gave 4 stars because of that, but it does hold fairly well. I'll probably put a small strip of gaff tape over the rubber to help hold it in place, or as a replacement to the tape they provide all together, just in case, but that is really my only drawback for these. I think for larger work where you're going to be able to place it directly on the skin, it's perfect, but at that point, I'd probably use a boom mic anyway. For run and gun, it's not gonna be ideal, but then again, that depends on how you set it up, but if you're doing sit down interviews and can run the mic, it holds to clothes pretty well. I haven't noticed any sound issues placing the mic only half way in, which was my biggest concern since I knew up front the mic was a little big. Another thing I think this would be great for is weddings actually. I have filmed a few, and I know some brides/grooms hate to see the mic and rubbing noise defeats the purpose of having the lav on the groom. I'd again add a strip of gaff tape for extra support, but in the end this would be awesome for that kind of work since you can tape it directly on the inside of the lapel and not have any rubbing issues! In my opinion, for under $20, these are outstanding additions for any audio kit.

Work super wll.
These work so well so far! They make it possible to hid the lav under clothing, but protect the mic from the rustling sounds of clothes rubbing up against it. Even the tape it came with, which to be honest I didn't have high hopes for (it didn't seem very sticky and was a little hard to get attached to the the plastic of the mount), was super great. It stuck to my skin and stayed there for the better part of an hour. I'll probably pick up a few more of these just to make sure I have them in stock.

They don’t come with adhesive.
These only work with Rode brand mics

Don't use this every day, but when you need it, it's wonderful.
This is not a piece I use everyday, but it's much more professional than mounting with moleskin or gaffer's tape. I love the ability to double mount lavs for second audio. I use this with toupee tape as mentioned in other reviews, and it works great.

Tape tabs come off the silicone!
For what it is, this product is way over priced and the tape tabs included do not properly adhere to the silicone (comes off the silicone!) I had to waste a bunch of them to make one stick. The silicone covers have too smooth of a surface for the sticky tabs to adhere reliably and they detach and fall off! As mentioned by other reviewers, the best solution here is to use other adhesive tapes; but it's best to use the double sided toupe tape over the silicone tab and simply pin it down to the talent's chest. Kinda nuts but it's more secure that way than with the existing unreliable tape tabs. The current configuration, while ideal theoretically, sucks in practice. But thankfully there's an alternative with other tapes.

Great Idea, not so much in reality
Nice idea that doesn't actually work. I still get terrible noise from clothing rubbing using this.

AMAZING!
The RODE invisiLav is an amazing item to have on a small production set, as not only is it cheap and affordable; it gets the job done! What else could you ask for!?I highly recommend to any purchases to order more Clear-sided skin safe "wig" tape, as it doesn't come with nearly enough in the box at purchase.

They work, but expensive for what they are and adhesive issues.
The idea is nice and works, But the cost does not match function. They are cheaper alternatives that work the same. My biggest gripe is the included double-sided stick tape. It does not work and is difficult to work with. I wen't through three sticky-slips trying to mic an A-List Sports figure who embarrassingly asked if I need some assistance getting him mic'd. I ended up using gaffers-tape triangled technique to get though the shoot. If they were 10 dollars cheaper and the adhesive was difficult and useless. These would be awesome. With that said, when mounted they do work wonderfully. Just pricey!
