Calphalon Premier Space Saving Stainless Steel 12" Everyday Pan with Cover

I was nervous seeing the product weight in description but when the 12" pan with two helper handles arrived, I was relieved to find that the pan itself is on the lighter side than other 3 ply and maybe thinner, but that could be my imagination. The lid, however, is extremely heavy and needs attention when washing so as not to cut my finger on the lipped edge at the very top of the rim. My guess is that this lip exists to make it easier to grip the lid while washing, but I can imagine maneuvering just fine without it. The lid handles do get hot, as does the two helper handles, so make sure to have light duty pot holders or a couple of dishcloths nearby.Performance is great. Very fast and even heating, no hot spots. Lid slides around a bit. Lid does not create a completely tight seal, which is fine since it doesn't have vent holes.Cleaning is very easy because everything slides right off. Typical browning taken care of with soaking in hot water for just a few minutes.

Nice heavy duty kitchenware

I have owned many Calphalon pans. All of the larger diameter sizes are poorly made and will warp after only a few uses. Warranty program is no good. You have to nag and then they only send you out a replacement that will warp again. Since you have to pay for shipping you won't make a second claim. Calphalon is a very unethical company.

Good quality product but the handle design doesn't work well.You need 2 hands to empty the pot. It's not safe to use only one.They idea is better than the reality of day to day use.
