Q: Is this too big to use on a 2" ball?

Hitch Balls for receiver hitches come in three sizes 1 7/8", 2" 2 5/16" . If you have a 1 7/8 or 2" ball you need a 21801. If you have a 2 5/16" you need a 20811.

Yes I do like it. It covers the larger 2-5/16" hitch Ball and is flexible so it's easy to get on and off. Mainly keeps the grease off of everyone, especially the grand kids who usually rub against it at some point or another

Q: Will this fit a 3” ball?

It is designed to fit a 2 5/16" ball. It is snug at that size. You might be able to force it onto a 3" ball in warm weather but good luck in cold weather!

it all depends on which size hitch ball your trailer coupler uses. I believe that 2 inches is standard; the 21811 is for a 2 5/16 ball. Get a tape or caliper and measue the ball on your hitch mount.
