cheap BUT solid (very solid, indeed!)
I admit I did not expect too much out of these little guys, being that they are so cheap, but, I must say, I am rather impressed! the click, or "chick" :) if you will, is sound and worthwhile for most functional contexts (likely for all, it is lovely). The sound when the hats are open is remarkable. Overall, I'm happy that I was able to get very good hats for such a cheap price! would recommend for any budget drummer.

A good sounding cymbal!
I used only one suspended cymbal struck with a felt mallet in combination with the piano in a piece by George Crumb. Its complex overtones with a reasonably long decay created just the right spooky, sinister effect. It is a solid heavy cymbal which is sold as a pair. Excellent value for the modest price of $65.

one or two of the reviews stated they sound dull; perhaps those people received duds
this is the first i've heard of this line from sabian. i have yet to put em on my kit at church, but just from stick tests, they sound clear, bright, higher pitch than 14s ( which is why i bought them ). one or two of the reviews stated they sound dull; perhaps those people received duds, because mine ring out quite well, & that's just being lightly played with a pair of lightweight wooden tipped sticks. can't wait to get my 727 nylon tips on them.good job, sabian; keep them cheap.

Great value
I bought a drum kit to give my daughter for Christmas. The hi-hats that came with it were terrible, so I ordered these to replace them. It's great for the price and meets the need very well. she definitely lives playing it.

Do not like
I am not satisfied with the overall sound of the hi-hats. It has a dull hollow sound when tightened and a dull open sound. I bought them for the use of playing gospel music in church. They suffice when music is being played, giving a crisp sound. But when played singular the leave an ugly resonance. They sound better with thick wood sticks, I prefer nylon and this increases that dull resonant sound.

Great hat set
Love the sound and the balance. Can’t beat it for the price.

Great, if your expectations are realistic
Great, if your expectations are realistic. I bought this as a birthday present for my 4/5 year old son who plays drums. This, along with a PDP hi-hat stand, is the perfect hi-hat for his mini drum set. This replaces the awful "child's" hi-hat that came with his drumset, so this is a HUGE step up. They would probably be too dark for a full size setup, and for someone who plays out in clubs or other live settings, but they're perfect for me and my son.

Real? Fake? IDK, but they work.
These have a pretty tinny sound, but for the price, they work just fine. I'm positive that Sabian usually ships in a box, but these arrived in just a shoddy amazon shipping bag. Rip offs? Not really. You get what you pay for - they do the job for home practice for now!
