Life Slow Lane: Desert Tortoise Tale Paperback – Picture Book, December 1, 2005

LOVED this children's book by Conrad Storad! It's very educational for children AND adults. Beautifully written and amazing illustrations as well! It's a very entertaining way to learn. As a child, I would have looked forward to being taught through this style of learning! The catchy dialogue and stunning visuals really help engrain the facts and lesson. Schools would really benefit from having this book. I remember growing up, they used to roll in the tv on wheels on Fridays to learn in a more entertaining way. This book definitely matches up to the "tv on wheels" kind of learning time! Excited to check out more Conrad Storad books!

We loved this story about a desert tortoise. His slow pace allows him to live long and survive many thousands of years as a species. We created our own more colorful tortoises out of 1/2 of a paper plate with tissue paper shapes glued to the shell. The tortoises look like they are taking a walk around our classroom.

Purchased as a gift for nephew's 5th birthday. The illustrations, hardback and dust cover were of great quality.

This was a perfect book for our grand kids it's one of their favorite books. We have a sulcata tortoise and it makes them think of him.

Traveling through Arizona and New Mexico we found this book a great informative source to send for my granddaughter who is 7 and loves to read.

Cute story but not as many facts as the javelina book. My son LOVES the "don't call me pig" book. He likes this one but isn't over the top about it. Still, it's nice to have a book about animals that has good rhymes and teaches the kids something

We have given our little Godchild children's books for the past 2 years. This is by far his favorite. I think because of all the desert critters the tortoise looks most familiar to him..
