New Balance J4040 Rubber Molded Baseball Cleat (Little Kid/Big Kid)

My 6 yr old son has big wide Flintstone feet just like his dad! Although his feet are not fat or chubby it was hard to find a cleat that did not pinch his toes or give him blisters on his pinky toes. Of course he wanted Nike because its such a popular brand, but they are notorious for running small and narrow. I did some research and found these cleats. New Balance is more "fat foot" friendly, or in my son's case "wide foot" friendly. They are great quality and seem to be holding up well with my son who especially rough on his cleats.

My 8 year old son is already wearing a size 6 1/2 shoe, which has proven to be very hard to find in cleats. We ordered these size 7 cleats hoping he could continue to grow into them and that they would not be too big. They are just right. Not too big when laced up properly, but big enough he will still have room to grow. I would say that they are not too narrow or wide. Overall the cleat is well made, solid and well stitched. I was surprised by the quality after seeing much cheaper made cleats on the market for more money. Overall I think this was a great purchase.

Very nice and lightweight cleat. My son loves them! He says they are the most comfortable cleat he has ever worn. We usually have to go a 1/2 or a whole size up for his cleats due to his wide feet but we took a chance on his normal size in a wide which just happened to be one of the few sizes left and he and I both are glad we did. So bye, bye Nike and Under Armour, I think he will be a New Balance cleat guy for the rest of his playing years. I almost forgot to mention that they are also an awesome looking cleat with the black and camo design.

I purchased these cleats for my son who's feet are a little wider than usual. His issue is more that the area between the arch of his foot and the laces of the shoe is larger or taller than average feet - I'm not sure how better to describe this. We have a really hard time finding shoes that fit and cleats are even worse. We are happy with the width of these cleats, but he thinks the area under the ball of his foot is uncomfortable. We've been able to remedy this with a gel insert and these cleats are much better than the Nike's he was wearing before.

My son's feet are not particularly wide, but for whatever reason, baseball cleats tend to run narrow. These have a much wider box for the front of his feet which fit him much better than any others I've found. They seem durable, so I hope to get another season out of them (unless his feet grow too much)! My son loved them and never complained about wearing them (as he had in the past with other brands).

My child has wide feet, and the wide size in New Balance cleats are the only ones that fit. They have a snug fit, but don't cause any blisters. The cleats are durable. He grows out of the shoes before they show any wear.The shoes are really hard to lace because the laces don't move freely in the lace holes. I finally bought some bungee cord laces for the shoes instead of the ones that come with the shoes, and they are a big improvement.

My 7 y/o daughter has really wide feet and a tall instep and I feel like I am constantly buying her shoes that she only wears once because they hurt her feet and she refuses to wear them. I was hesitant to buy online, but after searching all over town to find something I opted for these instead. My daughter has not complained once in these shoes. In fact she put them on to wear them to school one day and I had to tell her they were only for games and practice.

Wide width cleats for softball--just what my daughter needed! These have fit comfortably and held up fine for this season. I hope my daughter can wear them again next season but if she outgrows them we will just buy another size of this shoe because they have fit her so much more comfortably than any other cleats she's owned.
