Rather impressed and highly recommend!
For a budget friendly screen. I have to say I’m rather impressed. I’ve been done the road of some pretty crappy electric screens. My studio has an elite screen Tripp’s screen which is nice and has held up very well despite its numerous Uses over the last couple years. So I’ve always had elite screens in mind. I’ve looked at the more expensive models and the basic spectrum screen. One thing I don’t get is the use of the cheap and very slow moving “synchronous motor”. Even in the higher end tab tension screens of larger sizes this motor is so slow that watching ice melt is more entertaining. By the time the screen is down the movie is over. Just look at the many any reviews of the spectrum series on YouTube. But when the spectrum 2 model came out it was a game changer. Finally a screen with a tubular somfy motor that extends and retracts the screen much more efficiently and smoothly. It’s has a much nice sleeker case versus the typically hexagonal case of it’s cheaper counterpart. And it even comes with brackets that not only make hanging the screen easy, but also allow a much nicer finish cause they are basically hidden from sight. No end cap mounting options which limit the centering of the screen if there’s not a stud or ceiling joist in the proper location. You can slide the screen case along the hidden brackets for optimal centering of the screen even if the mounting point of off center. Freaking brilliant! I also like the inline wall switch it’s simple and effective. And it’s also detachable! So if you want to add an optional remote system. You can. And either configuration can be done by a 6 year old. No hard wiring diagrams and all that like some much expensive screen options. The case is very study. It’s a heavy screen but not overly so that a novice would have difficulty. It got a 12 inch black drop and two inc black borders along the other three sides for great framing ability of the picture. My screen hangs very nicely with no ripples or waves. And even thought it’s not tab tensioned the screen has remained almost perfectly flat with only very very very minimal curling of the edges. I also like that this screen is very low odor when it’s first unrollled. Many screens both cheap and expensive have a very strong inflatable poo toy or air mattress smell to them that lasts and lasts. Not this one. Only very faint smell the first couple times and after just a few days the Ames was gone completely. Elite screens doesn’t mention how to do this but there are up and down limit options on the model as well. It come standard with a 12 max drop that it is pre set at. And sadly a sticker over the down limit states that warranty will be voided if removed. But if you know how to use the limit switches properly you can adjust the drop and rise limits of the screen. Beware that this screens lower bar does not rest the full into the case like other such as the da lite cosmopolitan or Draper targa. But instead the weighted rod comes to a stop in like a special cradle or groove right at the opening of the case. So be careful not to adjust the up limit switch too far should you run into any slack when the screen stops at the top. I had to make a very small adjustment on mine as it hung just a mere eights of an inch short of the dowell rod resting point. Unit runs smoothly and quietly when in operation with no hesitations, skipping, jutters, or unnecessary vibrations from the motor or roller. Just flawless up and down motion. I highly recommend this screen to anyone from a novice to pro video guy that is seeking a more affordable option but still wants great quality features and reliability. This is also a great option when a ceiling recessed screen isn’t an option. Elite screens Spectrum 2 series is the way to go. Don’t settle for their regular spectrum with the “synchronous motor” go for the spectrum 2 for that great tubular Somfy motor!

Great motorized feature
The media could not be loaded. We have greatly enjoyed how this screen turns our humble living room into a fancy home theater. The motorized feature is easy to use and it feels luxurious to press a button to drop or raise the screen. Some specific notes:- The motor remote control: sleek and simple design with three intuitive buttons. The bottom button lowers the screen, the top button raises the screen, and the center button stops the screen at any desired height. Our space just happens to work well with the screen all of the way down, but it is easy to adjust the screen to the desired height using the remote. It is important to point the remote directly at the sensor (left side of screen housing) for it to work efficiently.- Screen: high quality and has remained clean and wrinkle-free for the past 5 months. It is important to hang the screen level to prevent wrinkling and strain on the motor.- Black screen housing: sleek and simple design and pretty easy to install. The kit comes with silver chain and brackets used to hang the screen. Our ceiling is vaulted and therefore not level so we had to do some finagling to make the screen housing exactly level, but were able to install it with not much difficulty.- Power cord: the cord is black and comes out of the left side of the screen housing. We wish the cord was longer and/or removable, which would make it easier to rout it along the wall and make it more subtle. In our case, since our ceiling is very high and we mounted the screen quite hight up, the cord was too short to reach the outlet without an extension cord. In order to hide the cord, we wrapped it up and used black tape to secure it to the back of the screen housing. We then used a more subtle white extension cord that matched our wall color to plug it in.Favorite features: we were skeptical how well the automatic motorized feature would perform before this product arrived, but were pleasantly surprised about the ease of use and functionality. The remote feature is dependable and effective. The overall design of the screen feels high-quality, simple, and visually appealing. We also love how we can efficiently utilize our limited space by using this screen instead of a TV, while having a much larger and better viewing experience than any TV could provide. Behind the screen we can hang art and musical instruments. We're even able to utilize "dead space" created by our apartment's built-in heating unit (don't worry, we don't blast the heat while using the screen!)What could be improved: Although the adjustable height feature is nice (again, we don't use that feature as the screen works best at its lowest setting in our space), it would be even better if you were able to SAVE a certain height setting that works best for your space, in effect not needing to stop the screen at the right height every time it's used. Although the remote works well and stops the screen movement with accuracy, I would find it tedious to adjust the screen to the projector image for each use. There's an entire foot of black space above the screen at full extension, and some may wish to only have the screen lowered to expose only the functional screen area.

Fantastic
We use it in our master bedroom with the Nebula Capsule 3 laser projector. Excellent picture quality. Love that it comes with more than one remote so my husband and I can each control it. Also love that the mounting hardware is attached so it has a really sturdy installation.
