Devotions for the Man in the Mirror

This devotional is one that I both love and hate. I love how it guides me to places I need to be and how it causes me to examine my life. Patrick Morley writes like he has known me for years, and discusses subjects that don't normally come up in my conversation.Then there are the days I read this devotion, and I get nailed. I get exposed in Morley's critical eye as he directs me to a condition I have, that as a believer I should not have, and don't want to admit I have it and most certainly don't want to give it up. But through the author's carefully selected words, and time, I find great benefits in giving up that coveted thing, idea, habit, etc.My favorite line in the book is: "There is a God who is and a god we want. The two are not the same."Morley will guide you through the two, and help you gain depth and closeness to the God who is, and become freed from the god we want.

Easy to read. Challenging and encouraging.

A well-written, thoughtful and "no-holds barred" book designed to really challenge one to be a man of God by totally surrendering all aspects of one's life (thinking, attitudes, speech, use of one's finances and time, etc) to God's will in order to glorify God in all that we do daily.

Read this every morning with the crew for a season and turned out to have great topics of discussion and helpful information every man could use, some bits may seem contridictory however in the end it is a very useful read.

Practical. Helpful. Challenging.

I own two. I recommend them for any man at any age. Women as well can benefit. My wife and I often read it together. Great spiritual lessons to be learned for nearly every phase of life.

This book should be on the reading table of every man who calls himself a Christian. If you want a closer walk with God this book will help.

My error was an oversight on my part. But...Though in fairly good condition the pages still look worn (brown).
