Imagining the World into Existence: An Ancient Egyptian Manual of Consciousness

Inspiration...Imagination...Thought...Word...Deed
Normandi Ellis wrote one of my very favorite books with ancient Kmt (i.e. Egypt) as its subject. Here I am talking about Awakening Osiris. That book translates the ancient Kmt "Book of Going Forth By Day" into a convincingly inspired and inspiring poem. For that reason I was very excited to see that Ms. Ellis was going to apply her talent for harmonizing with the qualities of these ancient beautiful people into a description of their spiritual and magical practices. I was not disappointed in the outcome.Imagining the World Into Existence is a relaxed tour through ancient Kmt's core beliefs. Among the touch points are an examination of the power of hieroglyphic writing to convey the true multi-dimensional power of language; a discussion of creation myths and exactly what spiritual instruction is conveyed via them; an overview of the role of various players in the ancient Kmt spiritual tradition, from women and men, priests and magicians, kings and lay people, and so forth; a translation of the Book of Going Forth by Day and its relevant-even-to-modern-people spiritual secrets; and much, much more.Importantly, Ms. Ellis inserts her first person experiences with these traditions into the book. Consequently, you have both an enthusiastic and experienced guide. Furthermore, the author's choices are all curated perfectly. For example, any deep dive into ancient Kmt and into the Cairo Museum will lead you to the obscure sanctuaries of Djehuty-Ankh-Imn (i.e. King Tut). These fascinating objects clearly convey a knowledge of spirituality via jaw dropping images. Another example is her brief description of the power of R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz's work, without doing the deep nerd dive that many fans of his do. Amen!Highly recommended for beginning enthusiasts and swallowed-whole-by-the-duat adventurers.

Full Circle
Years ago as a very young aspiring writer, I was planning a novel to demonstrate that the deepest spiritual truths in all the world's major religions were actually one and the same. Now, decades later and two novels along those lines written and published and into the third, I was doing some research on Alexandria in the First Century and then deeper into Egypt in space and time. Here I encountered Normandi Ellis and her work, especially Imagining the World into Existence, only to discover that I had met and talked with Normandi many years ago in Boulder, Colorado, when I was plotting that first novel. How I enjoy observing the circle completing itself. Ouroboros!Congratulations to Normandi as my friend who has, as Thoreau advised, gone confidently in the direction of her dreams, who has lived the life she imagined. And evidently has taken many other people along with her.Rather than comment extensively as this work deserves be done, I will simply allow Normandi's deep reverence for Egyptian primeval spirituality to infuse the background of my own work, as, per her description, the many Egyptian “mystery” elements crept unacknowledged into Hellenic and then Christian mythology and theology (eschatology, trinity, transubstantiation, etc.). Beyond all the strife and division across the ages, there is truly One Mind. Thanks for taking us back to one of the earliest sources of that insight, Normandi.

It's an interesting read
Since I had read most of the material before, I gave this book three stars. I want an "aha" moment and brain-blowing information when I pick up a book! But this book did not get my attention. It is still a good book to read. It moves along smoothly and is an easy read. The book was finished in a couple of days. Others may find it useful.

Awakening Osiris was such a great experience for me so I had high hopes for this book, especially given the evocative title. The book was extremely well researched and was laid out in an appealing way however it came off as kinda dry and lacking in the earthiness of Awakening Osiris. I wanted to love it. The fact I bought a book without at least skimming through it is rare for me but I'm a starving artist cliche and so have little extra dough for luxuries like trade paperback books. It needed a pair of sweaty bollocks if you catch my drift.

A Genuine Masterpiece
This book is a true masterpiece of Normandi Ellis after the Awakening Osiris. A thirty-year experience crystallized, it captures the heart of Egyptian Mystery Tradition beautifully. Meditation upon the text is probably life changing. Detailed and well-explained, the book talks about the concepts behind the ancient texts which, once understood, could change the way we look at the world, the Deity, and ourselves, making us more whole. Though it requires reading several times to comprehend the contents therein, I highly recommend it to anyone who interested in Ancient Egyptian Spirituality.Endymion MoonChilde

Details about the egyptian way of life and ancient philosophy
The author obviously spent a long time with the topic and collected details and information about the outer form of its science-religion. But without the keys to the mystery she circles the house without ever getting inside. If you are looking for clear information or the teachings of the old egyptian mystery schools you have to look elsewhere.
