I LOVE MY CLOCK!We printed a Denny's logo on sticker paper (from Staples) and carefully cut it out and placed it between the word SEIKO and the center of the clock. It looks like it is a "Denny's clock."In other words it is a fun, funky cool clock that you can easily remove the front glass on and replace if you want to logo yours up to make it even more fun. The wood grain is "okay" up close, but from 5-10' away it is "wonderful." NO TIME LOSS. The clock is accurate so far (4 months in). I am looking at it right now. It is 100% silent (like a clock ninja or something). The gold (tone) second hand sweeps smoothly (not a quartz tick-tick-tick action) and the hour and minute hands flow smoothly as well. Takes two batteries, easy to mount (one nail or a screw). Very light clock. Best use is to put it up at least 5-10 feet, preferably 10-20 from where the average person will glance at it. This way the illusion that it is a more expensive clock will not be shattered.It has a faux retro/antique feel to it. I really think the Denny's logo helped. It seemed a bit plain at first. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is real wood. It is high quality resin, and while it says "dark brown" it really is a medium, maybe even a 40% (being the lighter side of true medium) brown. Great clock if you never fuss with it.

We bought this as a gift for aging parents who are fairly traditional in their tastes and, after looking at hundreds of wall clocks, ended up trusting that a Seiko would have a higher quality look and feel. It does. The face plate has expensive-looking gold trim that picks up the light as you move through the room, the wood bezel is nicely finished, even the plastic back is a nice plastic. The sweep second hand is, as other reviews have cited, completely silent. The numbers are crisp, large and easy to read from across a large room, another nice feature for older folks. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it is a little pricey. But, compared to some other clocks for 20 bucks less I would expect that it will last a lot longer. A simple, traditional, elegant item that works.

The clock looks amazing and high quality. Seiko makes great products but we had a problem with it. The clock kept getting delayed and we initially thought it was the battery. Even after changing the battery, it was still slow. I contacted both Seiko and the seller. The seller assured me that they can send me a new one if Seiko fails to ship me a new one. Seiko quickly shipped me a new one and that one is keeping accurate time. I own several Seiko products and will continue to buy Seiko clocks and watches. Very happy with their products and the customer service of both Seiko and the seller. Highly recommend.
