Riedel Heart To Heart Cabernet Sauvignon Glasses, Set of 2

I have these, and a pair of Vinum Extreme. Placing the glass side by side, it is identical. The bowl of the glass is perfect for full bodied wines. When you pick it up, this is where you will tell the difference between the Vinum Extreme, and the Heart to Heart The Vinum Extreme has a perfect weight balance. The foot of the glass is less dense, so when you swirl the wine to coat the glass, it feels better in your hand The Heart to Heart, the foot is a tad bit dense. When you pick it up, it feels a bit more "awkward." I use the term "awkward" lightly. These still feel great in your hand. These glasses are phenomenal. Just explaining the difference between handling the flagship Vinum Extreme vs these glasses. Even with the added weight, it's definitely not a deal breaker. When you drink out of the glass, it will have the same experience as the Vinum Extreme. As stated, the body, and opening of the glass is identical. To the average person, you will not be able to tell the difference between the two sets. You should buy these if you just want a great wine experience without hurting the bank. The body and opening are identical to the Vinum Extreme. These are perfect for full/medium bodied wines. If you're a wine connoisseur, definitely go with the Vinum Extreme. Swirling wine in the extreme's feel a bit more natural, which makes it a bit easier to coat the glass. It also feels better in your hand when you tilt the glass to view the legs.

Always loved oaky chard and got into a rut this summer so I went for it and splurged on these glasses. Do they enhance the flavor? Hard to say but they are beautiful and easy to swirl. love Reidel products and do think at least the weight and thickness of the glass matters.

This is my first big boy glass and it's great. Before this, I was drinking wine from either one of those 7 oz. classic shaped wine glasses from BBB, or one of the magnificently thick Lenox crystal goblets I got as a wedding gift set. This beautiful glass holds just over 28 oz. and if you do the calculation, a regular bottle of wine (750ml) is just over 25 oz. So yes, you could fill this glass with an entire bottle of wine all for yourself. But you shouldn't do that. Ok, you should do it once, but not with your best wine. After that, fill the glass to the widest part of the bowl (probably about 5 oz.). Swirl and sniff. I've been drinking a lot of Bordeaux out of these and the glass shape really brings out the aromas of these Cab-heavy wines . The lip of the glass is not super thin like some more expensive glasses, but thin enough (and sturdy) as to not be a distraction while sipping. I hand wash these in very warm (not hot) water with a dab of regular dish soap, and dry with a terry cloth. If you're into drinking heavy reds and are still drinking out of the tumblers you had in college, get a pair of these now.

This review isn’t so much about the stemware choice. We’ve been using the “Heart to Heart” Cabernet glass for about 4 years. This recent purchase was to increase our inventory. The intent of this review is to point out how Amazon shipped the light weight Riedel carry box of 4 glasses without using an outer box for shipping protection and to disguise what is contained in the box. The bright red box with pictures of content, held together with just flaps was designed to purchase in a brick and mortar store and carried home. Not thrown with other freight in the back of a truck. The lack of packaging also informs the wood be thief to know exactly what they’re taking. So consider the ship to address. Aside from that, we highly recommend and enjoy these glasses.

I've been exploring and learning a lot about wine. I took this glass and compared it to others I have,-- a large Riedel pinot noir, another cheaper, chardonnay glass almost the same size (rounded but same capacity) with thicker glass (6 for $19.99), and a Zweisel 18.6 oz. cabernet that we usually use for tastings because it has a larger bowl that narrows at a sharp angle as it rises. This Riedel Oaked Chardonnay glass really did bring out more of the aromas and taste of the oaked Chardonnay. Significantly different enough for me to keep this one even when I have so much glassware already and at this price, --which by the way is the best price I've found for this glass. Riedels are more fragile than other thicker glasses, but if you take care they will last to give you years of pleasure. They are thin for a good reason. Try it.

Great size and shape for red. Not too large and a beautiful slim glass for enjoying your wine! Love all Riedel glasses but these are the go-to glasses for entertaining.
