Extra layer of security.

Bought this for my boat trailer. Less than 3 months the lock would not unlock. So I had to cut it off in order to tow the boat. If that isn't bad enough, it took less than 30 second to cut the ball off to slide the lock off the hitch with a battery powered saw-zaw. To my surprise the ball was aluminum and hollow. How safe was my boat and trailer to begin with? Do not buy!

This is a robust lock but I'd like to report the following feedback.1. Read the instructions and lubricate the lock. It functions better afterwards and I recommend to keep it lubricated.2.The key fits loosely in the slot. Be sure and push it all the way into the opening but even when you do, sometimes you need to wiggle the key to get the lock to release. I called the 800 number listed on the package and was told this is normal. However this still concerns me and I am hoping someday I don't get it locked onto my trailer and not able to get it off.3. If you want replacement or extra keys, I was also told that this is a newer coupler lock product and I will need to wait until sometime around March 2025 until more keys will be available. Be sure and write down the key code on the key itself and have that information somewhere accessible in case you want or need more keys. I also recommend you register this product according to the instructions.

Sturdy and strong. I own another lock similar to this one and this is one much stronger and more secure.
