Fits my obscure softbox
Bit of a push to make this fit my striplight box, but it's been holding up nicely and my speedlite 430 EX II works well with the setup - a welcome addition and the price was right.

Solid and adjustable.
Used this for a homemade beauty dish using a 24" reflector, worked out perfectly. String ball joint stays where you set it even with a heavy load. Has lots of adjustment range for the flash with a trigger use two different Yongnuo Speedlights with YN622 triggers without any problems.

Good if you don't use flash triggers
First, the quality of the stand is good. Seems heavy, and well made. My only problem, which is why I give it 3 stars, is that it will not fit with my Odin receivers. I have added pictures to show the issue. I returned the item, and ordered a bracket that will hold the flash horizontal.

Not too bad
But the ball head can be difficult to adjust, and I'm not usually very picky. That being said I used it for a diy beauty dish and it work very well and I will be buying another as in making another dish that's larger.

Great product!
I use these Speedrings with my 36" x 12" strip lights. At first, I was a bit concerned about the how sturdy the product would be, but after I got it mounted on the light strips I then realized that these speed rings were in fact very strong. There is zero play in positioning the light strips. The build is excellent.

Ball head and screw mount needs work
The ball head requires you to use some pliers or so to make it tight enough so that the position stays locked into place. If not then it could potential tilt down due to the weight of the softbox. The screw for the softbox mount also requires to be tightened so the mount does not move from the left or right, again due to the weight of a softbox. Should be redesigned to fix these weak points.

I'm not a fan of this speed ring. The ...
I'm not a fan of this speed ring. The single screw design allows the ring to sway to either side. When attached to a medium sized softbox, it'll sway to the side after a bit. You can tighten it with an allen wrench, but that will only last so long. It works, but isn't a rock solid solution.

but I like Fotodiox quality
Used this for a DIY beauty dish. Well made; probably cheaper somewhere else, but I like Fotodiox quality. The only problem is that the vertical arm attached to the large ring is so long that it stops the strobe & modifier from being tilted down far enough. I'll probably just hacksaw off the bottom half of the piece but it's a little overkill.
