Rockford Fosgate M2 M282B Marine Grade 8-Inch Coax Component Speakers Black

So I installed two of these and a 10 inch RF marine sub in my 23 foot boat. I also ordered a r400d amp from fosgate. I hooked them up and wasn't very impressed to begin with. I think they are indeed loud, but I didn't get the mid bass other talk about and the vocal quality of the music was bad. It sounded like the vocal part was hollow. Now I am going to be replacing my head unit and rca connections so this might fix the issue, but so far I was not overly impressed because the vocal quality was not that good. I will revise m review if I discover it is something else. At this time however, I believe it is the 8 inch speakers just dont have the clarity I expected for the price(180) I paid

Bought these for a cooler stereo project. In my prototype I used Polk Audio DB 6 1/2" speakers that sounded great but were lacking in the bass region. Did not want to go with a sub woofer as I want complete portability, but sound quality is very important to me. I did some research online and found a lot of good reviews on these, which most commented on how strong the bass output is. I took the risk and bought a pair, which is considerably more than the Polk's. I installed them using an amp with 100 watts rms per channel. First impression was WOW these ROCK! After a break in period they just get better! Rockford knocked it out of the ballpark with the M282's.Build quality is exceptional as with most of Rockford products.Sound quality is great, lots of bass/mid-bass. Do not compete with subs but have a good tonal quality for most music without the added components.Crystal clear highs and mids.Packaging very good, comes with a cutout template.Marine components, water not an issue. Hot tubbin in a snowstorm, they played all night without a hitch, cleaned up easily.I highly recommend them! Especially if you want loud clean sound.

Great speaker, but speaker grill too big to fit 8" hole.

These speakers are freaking AWESOME! I installed 2 of these in the back side of my roof on my UTV and 2 of the Rockford M2 6.5 inch in the front of my roof with a amp and they will blow you AWAY! If I am sitting in my UTV and crank it up it is so loud that the person next to me can yell and I still won't be able to hear what they said! It's really loud like hurt your ears loud! Might be a little over kill for my application but I love it! The sound quality is great as well no crackling or distortion even when cranked up. My brother help me fab my roof and install these and he was amazed at how they sounded as well.

GREAT SPEAKER

This speakers may be kinda pricey but they sound amazing. Plenty of bass and the mids and highs are great as well. Using a polk audio pa330 amp with these its rated at 75 watt rms and the speakers are 100 watt rms but the amp pushs them great! Nice product wourth every penny

Not a true marine speaker. Im on my second pair and the same problem. When the tweeters get wet they stop working. Avoid this item for marine use
