Great for Paintball
I really like this accesory, it is great for recording paintball games (especially with the 170 degree setting), you won't feel the difference while wearing it on a paintball mask and you get some really nice shots, i have yet to try it on other activities but i can say that using the included headband can feel a little weird allthough i haven't tried using it like that

works as directed
The item is simple and to the point. I took it out of the box and tried it on. No issues so far. I am curious to see how it will feel once I receive the action cam.

Awesome mount!
I use this when I ride my dirt bike, and it's awesome! I've tried other mounts that fit with my gear (shoulder and chest) but I never liked how the videos turned out. I've been super happy with this mount!

For skiing probably better off with VCT-TA1 angle adjuster
I used this to mount the camera on the strap on my ski goggles. Because of the design of my ski helmet I couldn't have mounted it directly onto my helmet without using some sort of angle adjuster such as the VCT-TA1 accessory, which I didn't have, so this mount was useful to have. However it had two serious shortcomings: 1) The camera was tilted by about 20 degrees from vertical, and 2) even with the strap very tight it bounced quite a bit, which hurt both the picture and sound. The next time I use the camera for skiing I will mount it directly onto my helmet using the mounting bracket that came with the camera and a VCT-TA1. If you are buying this for skiing you would probably be better off buying the VCT-TA1. Sony VCT-TA1 Camera Angle Mount for Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 (Black)

Christmas gift for son
Got this for my son Christmas of 2013. He loves it. He wasn't sure if he wanted this or the GoPro. He thinks this one takes better and clearer video. The headband is snug but not too tight. Seems to be made of a good quality material. He has had no complaints so far about it.

Uncomfortable to use, no tilt for camera
Sony Headband for Action Cam with Waterproof HousingThe other reviewers are right, there's no way to tilt the camera and in the default setting, the headband causes the Action Cam to aim much higher than line of sight. This results in footage that is mainly centered above your head. Imagine tilting your head up, that is the view of the Action Cam. The headband also slips around, and the weight of the Action Cam causes it to sag on that side. It'd work OK for snowboard/ski goggle straps, but again it still needs to tilt down. For people that aren't wearing a helmet with a goggle strap, it is just uncomfortable to use.Overall: 3/5 starsr

WOW
My husband researched these cameras endlessly before he purchased the SONY. Amy son and his friend both got them for gifts and absolutely loved them. The video we watched from the slopes everday was so clear and crisp. We were all impressed with the picture and sound quality. Easy instructions on use.

Love it
This product works great. We used it a number of times to have the device on our heads while doing outdoor activities. It pretty well douses out any sound so if you want sound you can't really have it in the waterproof housing.

Good quality and well-built bit of kit; has some limitations though.
First up, the camera fits perfectly in the case. I had some problems when I used a GoPro where the camera would rattle inside the case, despite it being a genuine GoPro chest mount and waterproof casing. However, suffers with the same issue as any other waterproof case, it fogs up. Sony have created special anti-fog patches, but at around £20 a pack, that is quite pricey. You can't fit much in the case, but if you can get a hold of small silica packs or strips/oxygen absorbers like you get in beef jerky packets they will fit and double as a decent alternative. Silica gel packs from shoe boxes for example, won't fit.The other issue I have is that you cannot adjust the pitch of the camera and the single strap limits you to positioning on the head before it starts slipping off. However, the strap can be swapped out so I brought a GoPro head cam mount which has a strap over the top too and is much better, especially as I use it for Parkour.

overr priced, but it does the job.
I got the action cam AS15 cheap on sale but it comes with 2 silly sticky attachment mean very limited flexibility. With not much choice, I have to get this headmount kit. As it's from Sony, it's obviously going to over priced to what is effectively a rubber band, and the plastic attachment.Saying all that it works and the attachment will go with any other "strap", not just the head band included. Apart from(to my surprise) that I cannot find a third party equivalent, I won't want to risk it following off, so decided to go with this. There is another option from Sony that will take the cam without the waterproof case but for almost the same price, I cannot see the reason to get that apart from arguably very slightly lighter.

Bulky but effective
Wearing this directly on your head means you are acutely aware of the weight of the housing and tightness of the band. But it is well built and, apart from the lack of up/down tilt, it does the job well. You can easily unclip from the headband and attach to something else such as a buoyancy aid strap or waist belt. The clip on mechanism is cleverly designed to be a simple and quick on/off, and very solid when clipped on.Would I recommend it? Yes, but to get the most out of it be prepared to experiment a bit by clipping onto other things.

Broke - sending my brand new Camcorder into the Ocean forever.
I had read that the Sony products were of similar quality to GoPro, but slightly less expensive, so I decided to risk it and finally purchase a sports camcorder. As a skier, the headband was a 'must', and it did the job, though I agree with the other reviews that suggest that it would be better if the strap was rubberised. My main issue is that the plastic attachment, which locks on to the strap, decided to fail when I was wearing the headband out sailing. The camcorder and plastic attachment flipped into the sea, and I was left with an elastic strap from what was, in total, a £250 purchase.I cannot afford to replace my action camera, but since then my boyfriend has bought a GoPro, with all accessories and an attachable float and floating wrist strap for not much more than I paid. In hindsight, perhaps that would have been a better investment as I feel thoroughly disappointed with Sony.

Good Quality, Expensive
The quality is very good and holds securely the camera, the strap is large enough and changes diameter to fit in the head. You can fit the strap on your head but you can't use it with bike helmet as slips.. it should have a connection strap in the middle to keep the camera in place. It's very expensive, comparing with aftermarket head mount kits that you can find 3 time less money than this one.
