These are great bags for the price. They are thicker than the cheap cheese cloth bags, but not heavy canvas or synthetic bags.I haven't put an Elk quarter in one yet- but when I stretch them out real far they expand some, but I don't think far enough that flies could get through. When stretched out:I do think you could set meat on the ground or leaves and it wouldn't get to the meat, you could brush the dirt off the bag.I DON'T think you could set it on wet dirt or mud with out it soaking through the bag on to the meat.I would feel comfortable setting the quarter in the snow.If you had to hang the bags in trees for days, I would be concerned about smaller gnats getting to the meat.

I haven't put an elk in them yet but I ordered the Alaskan Game Bags and when I received them I was surprised that they would stretch and there would be holes in the material up to a 1/4 of an inch big. I didn't like that because it could let flies in. So I returned them and after reading some reviews purchased these Allen bags. The bags seem like great quality and there are no holes in the material. They do seem a little narrow and I may have to work a little bit to get a hind quarter in but I don't think that will end up being a problem (......if I am lucky enough this fall to bag an elk). I would recommend these bags. A lot cheaper than some of the other bags on the market too.Update 9-22-16: Well I got lucky and was able to attempt to put a decent size bull into these bags. I say attempt because I could only fit the front shoulders into the bags. The hind quarters would not fit. Thankfully my buddies were close enough and able to provide me with their Alaskan bags that worked perfect. The material for the Allen bags would have been perfect if they would have been larger.

These bags are perfect for what I need them for. I use them for smaller elk and deer and most of them have fit perfectly in the bag. It does take a little finagling to get them in there but I somehow always do.

These bags are not Cadillac canvas bags, but we are not going to carry canvas bags in our hunting packs. These get you through the night. Put your game in a meat locker, freezer, or canvas bags the day after but put these in you pack for dealing with the first night.

More than sufficient. Ive seen many of this brand and comparable for more at alot of the usuall stores.Good product. Not a heavy duty washable/reusable guide level quality but much better than most of its caliber.Ive seen singles for close to the price of this bag of hour.Perfect for the backpack.

These game bags are thick and strong. I used two of them to haul out a quartered deer and they worked great. I washed them in the washing machine and they held up great to that as well. I suspect I should get several good years out of these game bags. Well worth the money. They kept the meat very clean as well.

Delivery was good. They appear to be capable of doing the job. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use them since my one shot at an elk hit a branch. I'm looking forward to using them this fall though.

I really liked the bags, they didn't tear like the cheap cheese cloth bags. The only negative about the bags is there wqas no string to tie the open end aroung the game.
