Tough fabric as advertised; Excellent customer service; Velcro bottom closure could use a redesign.
Very tough (TUFF) fabric which does withstand our 70 lb Airedale with very sharp teeth. The material and the dog does seem to make a lot of noise when he moves around in it at night (bed is in our bedroom) with his paws scratching against the fabric. Does not hurt the fabric but does tend to wake us up every once in a while. It took our Airedale 3 days to turn over the bed and find the Velcro closure on the bottom. He pulled it open and got to the inside mattress. Stuffing was everywhere!!I guess that's the 'soft under-belly' of the bed. :-(K-9 Ballistics responded quickly and is sending a new mattress and sent some suggestions on how to keep 'Zack' from the Velcro (like bitter apple).I gave them a suggestion to replace the Velcro with a sturdy, COVERED, zipper similar to the zipper that encloses the bolster cushions. Those zippers are under a flap and difficult to get to.

Pricey and a big disappointment.
$145.00. Pricey. I reviewed this originally on 19 April 2018. I purchase the product on 22 March 2018. Initially, It was larger than expected. It seemed sturdy. I thought it might be a winner. I was wrong. My dog is still a bit of a puppy, well, teen aged, based on his sense of humor and tendency to attempt to destroy anything he can when not being watched. My dog spends most of his time in a kennel outside. I wanted him to have bedding that was not messy and comfortable. I tried a different types of bedding when he was much smaller. Fred (the dog's name), yanked the bedding out of his dog house and began shredding the bedding. I tried straw but it turned messy.I continued to look for long term bedding to enhance his comfort. I found K9 Ballistics and read a few reviews and thought this bedding might have a shot at being a survivor. I was wrong. Since my initial 19 April review, my dog ripped a hole in the outer covering. I eventually caught Fred trying to jerk the oversized bedding through the dog house opening, stuffing flying around the kennel. I call that a fail.Unless, one is going to watch a dog 24X7, he'll delight in destruction because he is a dog and it brings them joy. Eventually, he will be trained out of this tendency but until then the K9 Ballistic dog bed does not hold up. It did not survive two months. I am $145.00 disappointed. I cannot recommend this product for an unsupervised dog. See the included pictures.

Best bed we've purchased in years!
We are very happy with our purchase! We were very nervous spending so much money on dog beds since we've bought many dog beds in our Great Dane's lifetime. She gets to digging to make herself comfortable and finds a hole, and then the bed is a goner! So now that we've had ours for over a month with no issues, we are convinced this was worth the money! I think she has probably done some digging at the bed with no success, so she doesn't even try anymore. We purchased a large for our Great Dane, and a medium for our little Boxer mix. A lot of times, our Great Dane will curl up in the medium, and our little one will stretch out in the large, which is pretty funny. We wanted the comfiest of beds because we were getting new furniture and didn't want them to have free reign over the couches anymore while we were gone for the day. These beds are definitely comfy for them! The only reasons I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the cushion inside doesn't really stay perfectly, so sometimes the bed is leaning back a little, (if that makes sense) and the loudness/discomfort of the fabric. With that said, I realize the loudness of the fabric is something that comes with the territory when you're getting a bed that will withstand that kind of wear and tear. I think we'll eventually buy a softer cover for the top. Right now, we just drape blankets over the top so it's softer for them, but it just looks messy rather than cozy. When we took the cushion by itself out of the box, our Dane layed on it right away and was in heaven. Once we got it all stuffed in to the bed cover, she wasn't a fan of it until we put blankets over top. I also wished the bed would've come pre-stuffed. My husband and I had an interesting time getting them together, which, after all that, I would think the cushions would fit tighter inside. We are very happy with our purchase! Just being as honest as possible, as I read SO many reviews before I decided to purchase these! Hope it's helpful to someone! This is the BEST for dogs that tear up beds!!
This bed is fantastic. My 'Shepador' can and will chew up and tear up any bed, blanket or toy made of fabric (or leather for that matter) After she had torn apart the last orthopedic bed I decided that spending the extra for the K9 Ballistics Bed was a wiser investment than buying another bed 'regular' only to have to replace it within a couple of months. We've had the bed for a few months and she hasn't even tried to tear it up. Took her a couple of days to decide to sleep on it but it's now one of her favorite places. Thanks for creating a get bed--virtually indestructible and it's comfortable, too!!!

$145 wasted. Now that the description has been changed
I notice now that the description has been changed. When I first purchased it, it was rated as a "Chew proof" bed. Yet within 3 days, my 20lb. shepherd mix had torn right through the fabric in two spots and destroyed the inner stuffing. They original description was a "lifetime guarantee", but now it has been altered to a 90 day guarantee. And it is a ONE time replacement. They sent me the top "chew proof" cover for heavy chewers and within a week, it was also chewed through. $145 wasted. Now that the description has been changed, at least people should know ahead of time, but I don't even think that a 3/5 rating is high enough for the durability. It's a step above the canvas bottom on a Pet Supply Store bed you get for $80.
