Healthy wet food
I spent a considerable amount of time searching for a healthy wet food option for my kittens. Initially, I bought Purina One beef flavor, and they absolutely loved it. However, I was concerned about the added color in the food, which I disliked. So, I decided to switch to Tiki Cat, but my kittens didn't devour it like they did with Purina One. Additionally, the fat percentage wasn't sufficient for their needs, so I switched to Purina Pro Plan, which was approved by veterinarians. However, I personally didn't like the ingredients in that food. Finally, I settled on another option that happens to be one of the most protein-dense foods available. It contains no excessive carbs or starch, but it does have added flavor (which I wish it didn't). Although my kittens enjoy it a lot, I can't say they're as crazy about it as they were with Purina One.Considering that my kittens didn't enjoy Tiki Cat, I've decided to mix Purina One with Wellness Core. This approach not only allows me to meet their nutritional needs but also helps me reduce the cost of providing them with a healthy diet. By combining these two options, I can strike a balance between their preference and the quality of ingredients, ensuring that they receive a nutritious and cost-effective feeding plan.

Good for kittens’ brains and bones
This was rated #1 on the web, hoping it will give my two kittens a good start. They get half a can each for breakfast and supper along with the same amount of Fancy Feast.

Best Quality Kitten Food I Could Find
Wellness Core Kitten Wet Food: Turkey and Chicken LiverThis is the best quality kitten food I could find. I did a lot of research and from the available foods I found, this is the best diet I could find without going 'raw' or making my own. While 'raw' diets are supposed to be more nutritionally natural for a cat, there is the possibility of salmonella as well as a lot more work involved with refrigerating it, portioning it, and heating it. For the convenience of having portioned and fully cooked cans of food, I'll deal with the potential 'lesser' quality of this food. I can also order it from amazon and have it delivered to my door. This food does have 'chicken meal' which isn't something you necessarily want, but it's pretty far down the list of ingredients, so I'm not too worried about it. It also has cranberries, which are supposedly included for urinary tract health. I read that this isn't necessary for cats. I don't know for sure, so I'll mention it and not comment. This is fairly expensive food. It's currently $21.48 for 12 cans (3oz.). That's 1.79/can or 0.60c/oz. or 9.55/lb. Take that into consideration when buying. Around here, that's more per pound than about any good meat I could get for myself from a grocery store. The Wellness complete line is almost as good and is a decent amount cheaper, though still more expensive than something similar wet foods you might be more familiar with. In the end, I'm just buying it because it's the best I could find and I can afford it with my one kitten. I feed her (1) can in the mornings and supplement with the recommended amount of the complementary dry food of the same line. We had a cat growing up who subsisted on low end dry food, then was on Royal Canin S/O for urinary tract issues for the rest of his life. He only got the occasional pack of wet food or snack in the kitchen and he was healthy and trim till he died of old age at 16yrs. It'll be up to you to decide if the price is worth it, but I believe the quality is definitely there if you decide it is.Just as an extra note, my kitten was found abandoned at 2 weeks. I got her at 5 weeks and she'd been fed adult wet food. I switched her to wellness complete kitten pate and was feeding her two cans a day. I wanted to supplement with dry food because they said you're supposed to free feed till they're 1yrs old for growth. She didn't even realize it was edible at first and I'd sprinkle some over her wet food. She started eating it, (Royal Canin Kitten at the time) and developed a preference for it. She'd eat it all and have wet food going bad in the bowl. Then when I realized the Royal Canin wasn't that quality, I switched her over to Wellness Core Kitten Dry, along with the wet. She didn't like it nearly as good. I assume there is some kind of flavor sprayed on the Royal Canin to make it taste good to them and Wellness doesn't do that. She now eats all of her wet and won't touch her dry till I sprinkle just a little of the royal canin on top and mix it in. Kitten will develop preferences and like stuff that isn't good for them. Their diet will change based on those preferences. Just something else to keep in mind while planning what to get them. I can afford to buy the more expensive stuff, because instead of feeding multiple cans of wet per day, I feed one can and supplement with dry. They have feeding instructions based on this as well.

Kitten loves this food!
When I say our kitten loves this food, I mean he LOVES this food. He's a good eater, but he scarfs this up. And, our knowledgeable acquaintance says this food is of high quality.

Good nutrition.
I tried to feed Misty this because of her special dietary needs. While she ate some of it, she eventually quit eating it because she doesn't like chicken. I don't any negative comments. She just doesn't like it.

Helps Save My Cats Life - Preserves My Back From Physical Therapy
Three Octobers ago (10/2010) my 14-year-old best friend was diagnosed with an aggressive cancerous tumor on the nape of his neck. The likely cause was a vaccine shot he got many years before in 1997. I remember the exact location: Slightly to the left, right above his shoulder where the technician injected the vaccine *into* his skin rather than under it, causing a severe and bloody abscess a few weeks later and left a permanent bald spot. In October 2010 we took an aggressive stance against the localized tumor and had it removed along with most of the ribs on his left side. During that surgery, he was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. For the weeks leading up to his first surgery he lost most of his weight, dropping from 17lbs to 10 lbs and was severly dehydrated. His diet at the time consisted primarily of IAMS Indoor Cat formula. By some miracle, he survived the surgery during which required three transfusions during his recovery. Ever since, he has been force-fed 12-16oz of Wellness Turkey formula in an attempt to bring him back to and maintain what I consider should be his normal weight of 14 lbs. He maintained 14 lbs for the 1st year, but he is now down to 10 lbs at 600 calories/day. I'd force feed him twice a day on week days, and let him eat on his own on weekends - trying out every single brand and line of cat food I could find (except for the raw recipes due to his compromised immune system). None of which he would consistently eat enough of on his own. I would not allow him to die from starvation. He would eat a little of the Wellness Sardine Shrimp and Crab recipe on his own - about 3 oz per day which is only about 80 calories and not nearly enough to sustain him. For three years, his appetite never increased beyond 3 oz / day for any brand of food. Until two weeks ago.Two weeks ago, I once again bought a handfull of all Wellness Core Canned recipes. He consumed every one of these at varying speeds - the slowest on the Salmon and on the Duck recipes, and the fastest on the Chicken Liver and the Kitten formulas which he consumed 2 and 1/2 5 oz cans on his own. So I bought more of these and since then, he has been eating a little over two cans each day of the Core Chicken-Turkey-Chicken-Liver! I am so thrilled and relieved for many reasons. Primarily for my little friend's life which he can now sustain by himself. And secondly for my back. This past year has been very difficult to force-feed after injuring my back and spending six months with physical therapists. Recovery was slower than normal because of the force-feeding - the only way to safely force-feed a cat who is missing many ribs is on the floor, in between my knees, wrapped in a towel like a burrito. A very bad position for the back in the first place. My little friend no longer vomits or has diahrea so dehydration is now less of a concern. Although 500 cal/day may seem high for a cat his age and current weight - he has lost over 40% of his healthy weight in a very short amount of time from his intestinal cancer which prevents his body from absorbing enough nutrients. His fluid intake is high and his cat box is frequently wet. My efforts these past three years has given him his lease on life so far and counting. The local oncologist and two advising vets expected him to expire within 6 months of the surgery either from the disease or from the chemotherapy which he is no longer on. It is now 3 1/2 years later and my little guy is happy and safe. This product will be the only one my best friend will have for the remainder of his life.

My cats love this !!!!
Great product. I use it as a treat along with other food because it’s expensive. But my 2 boys love it so much it’s worth it.

Good quality but not a cat favourite
Great quality, but a bit of a hard sell for the cats. They don't seem to enjoy it much and I have to mix it with another food they like better.

would be better to get a pate
The cat licks the gravy off the meat and then abandons the meat chunks... would be better to get a pate.

Expensive
Ordered this a few days ago, assuming by the price that it was for a case of 12 cans. When the package arrived, it was ONE CAN ONLY! Called Amazon inmediately and returned the item. Even the Amazon rep was shocked that it was only one can.
