Good quality, easy to program and use.

I started using this with a 250W chicken heat lamp to save money. I think that it will pay for itself quickly by turning the lamp off when it's warmer. It's relatively easy to program, but I recommend not losing the instructions. Has both heating and cooling function, so it would be useful for other things like seed germination box or custom fridge setup.

Reliable, accurate, and finally lets me sleep at night

I’ve been using this Inkbird temp controller for a bit now and I’m genuinely impressed. Since setting it up with the recommended on/off swing, my temps have stayed rock solid—exactly as expected. I no longer wake up wondering if my heating pad failed or overshot. The peace of mind alone is worth it.The WiFi functionality is a huge bonus. I can check and adjust temps remotely, get alerts if something’s off, and track everything through the app. No issues with connectivity, and setup was straightforward. Will probably standardize on this controller for all our heating zones. It’s accurate, consistent, and takes the stress out of temperature control.Highly recommend.

This is a great product, I have already bought 4 of them.

This is an extraordinary product. I recommend everyone having one on hand regardless of whether you think you need it or not. I originally bought two to build a DIY walk in cooler using a standard room air conditioner. It took me a while to figure it out but once I did it worked perfectly and still does. I then bought another because I raise chickens and this with a heat lamp keeps the temperature exactly where I want it. It worked so well that I bought another which I am using for a second stage brooder. Having this device with a multi plugin extension cord lets me run several heat lamps with the single unit. I was able to put my birds outside sooner and give them more space to grow until they are big enough to be turned out on their own. I think I need to buy another just to have on hand.

Don't lose the instructions! Device failed after 4 years.

I bought this in 2020 to use in the winter on our well, set to turn on a heat lamp pointed at the well's controller relay valve when the temperature drops to 38 degrees F. One year it froze and we had no water and the well tech said we were lucky the pipe didn't burst and that we should use a heat lamp. We place this temperature controller hanging on a wall on our back porch about 20' from the well with an extension cord running from the controller to the heat lamp. Since using this, we've had no problems until now. This week, even in the Houston area, temperatures are projected to go down to the teens. When the temperature decreases to 37 degrees, the controller is programmed to turn the heat lamp on but tonight, it didn't work. A new bulb did not turn on either. Plugging the heat lamp directly in a 120V outlet turned the lamp on. Examining the temperature controller, it is set correctly and no changes have been made to it in 4 years. There is an indicator pilot lamp for when the heating mode comes on and that light did not come on. Tonight, I ordered a new one. I don't know how long these are supposed to last. The instructions are totally non-intuitive. Getting into the settings requires pressing the set button for 3 seconds, but it doesn't stay in settings mode for more than a few seconds. The menu codes are cryptic: PV (present value), SV (set value), TS (temperature set), HD (heating differential), CD (cooling differential), AH (alarm high limit), AL (alarm low limit), PT (compressor delay), CA (temperature calibration) and CF (Celsius vs Fahrenheit). This is described as "plug and play" but it obviously isn't.

Solid, stable, and reliable!

It’s no wonder why this thing has such a good rating - it’s a great device! I wish I had known about it sooner. Up until now, I was using a complicated home automation system that used remote triggers between a smart wifi outlet and a wifi thermostat. It was working, and the wireless factor was nice, but it was also really flaky at times. The Inkbird feels more reliable and stable. I also love the calibration features, which are perfect for situations where you have multiple types of thermostats in the room and are trying to synchronize their readings. The app is also straight forward and not finicky like some home automation apps can be. It’s simple and to the point. Pairing was as close to plug and play as you can get.I think my only wish would be for the probe wire to be longer. 5ft is kind of stupidly short, and if you are trying to position the device away from your heater for example, you’re at the mercy of the heater’s power cord length, or you have to add an extension cord to it, which is dodgy unless you get a proper, thick gauge cord.Overall, great product, though, and still a 5-star from me!

You got’ta get one of these if you drink beer.

If you are like me, you cannot stand 45 degree beer. This magnificent device allows you to set the “Perfect” temperature. I’ve set my “SV” value to 57… and a cooling valiance of 5 degrees. My “Beer Fridge” now keeps my beer at a consistent 57-58 degrees. Kudos to InkBird for making this kind of stuff!

worth the price

I switched to this brand from another, and I'm glad I did. It works really well and feels worth the price. Plus, it's simple to use, which I appreciate.

Excellent device

Where I live in the mountains, it can be 85 during the day and 35 at night in the fall. When I came back in the evening after helping a neighbor with some manual labor, I discovered my work room where my elderly cat stays was 96 degrees! Everything in the room was hot to the touch because I forgot to shut down my oil heater. With this device you can plug in one side to an A/C unit and the other side into my oil heater. In the phone app I can set the temperature I want the room to maintain, now the room reaching 96 degrees is a thing of the past. Currently I have set to 73 degrees. Temp hits 72? No problem, oil heater kicks on and warms room up to 73. 74 degrees? No problem, A/C kicks on and cools room down to 73. There is a customized setting for setting a delay before the A/C kicks on to protect the compressor. During a 24 hour period, there are long delays where neither heat nor cool is on. You can just see my wall A/C unit in the picture. This device is a lifesaver if you live in an environment where you have wild temperature swings, this device will save your room.
