Can this paper run through a printer?

Yes, it can. We printed on this paper using an inkjet printer (Canon). Out of 100 pages printed, we had a few (less than five) bad printouts. No jams though.The only problem is the size of this paper, is 12 X 9 inches and you need a printer that can feed that size.

Could you layer this paper and see through several sheets? I am hoping to have my students do a project were they build layers of maps they can see.

That may not work very well. For example, with four sheets of this tracing paper over a typewritten page, you can't read words, only just see a blur where the words are. Transparency sheets would work better for your project.
