Easy to install, these are a substantial improvement over traditional side-strip nozzles. They are more precise, coverage is more even, and the misting and wasteful runoff down my driveway is over. Additionally, the construction seems more rugged than traditional nozzles. The strip next to my drive has been an ongoing problem due to a design flaw -- 10 pop ups on a single zone. It was designed years ago for standard radius nozzles, so when I switched to traditional side strip, it was an improvement (meaning, I no longer had to water way into my neighbor's yard to get head-to-head coverage), except these traditional side strip nozzles were still misting beyond the desired coverage area and calling for too much water at once...causing heads to sometimes struggle to pop up. Those problems have gone with these rotary nozzles. I was able to reduce the flow to some of the traditional heads because of overlap, but the spray patterns were imprecise. I bought a few of these hunter rotary side strips and found them a world apart in construction, coverage and precision. Then I replaced the rest, except for a small corner, where I could reduce the flow of a traditional nozzle to a small corner area. The good news is that I am no longer spraying into the driveway to get coverage of the edges. Secondly, the heads pop up readily because they apparently call for less water to get greater coverage. As a result this experience, I have also replaced the traditional spray heads in my flower beds with MP 1000 rotary nozzles. If you are like me, you will find that you need fewer heads for the same coverage. I am still fine tuning run time durations, but I think these rotary heads are an evolutionary improvement for many applications. I'm finding that they need longer run times to lay down the same volume of water, but my heads all pop up readily. Temperatures are close to ninety, the grass is green, and I'm not watching gallons of water run into the gutter in front of my house. Highly recommended.

Water savings and easy installation.
Based on a water conservation review done on our property that suggested replacing all sprinklers with MP Rotators we did as recommended. Water usage went down and the lawn and garden improved. I did the replacement myself and the Rotators were easy to install and adjust. Highly recommend. Buy the Hunter MP Rotators with confidence.

SOLVED THE LOW PRESSURE ISSUE IN ZONE!
These MP Rotators are AMAZING! Since I bought this house 4 years ago, each summer I have been experimenting with different brands and different ways to get my sprinklers to pop all the way up. This year, some wouldn't even pop out at all; and if I tried lifting them up (which they slid very easily), they would just slide right back down. I had the city check my pressure to my house and at my hose bib, and pressure was normal for my neighborhood. I had several friends check it out and they said the pressure in that zone was bad, not to mention I had nine (9) sprinklers on one zone! I checked for leaks, and made sure things looked good at the valve box, but couldn't figure how to take care of the low pressure. I broke down and called a professional and he stopped by and suggested I first go with the MP Rotators. He said he could do it for $460, or I could buy them and do them myself. I figured, even at $6-8 per nozzle, it would be worth it to try. (Thanks, Robert Butterfield, Butterfield Gardens, Inc, SLC, UT, 801-910-5191! No charge for the advice!) Once I got all the ones in and tried it out, all the heads popped up and they started rotating! I was skeptical at first, but I am AMAZED, now! Robert told me that I would have to adjust my watering time, since these put out about 1/2 the water of traditional heads. It will take me some time to tweak that, I'm sure. These side-strip heads came in new condition, inside an unmarked zip lock bag, inside a padded envelope. The Hunter Brand Name and type of rotator is all imprinted on the head, so they seem to be the real deal. I have adjusted the arc all the way down, and they still go into the sidewalk, but my strip is really only about 3 feet, so I will have to accept that. I have only had in place for one day, so will need to update this after I've given them time to do their thing. Thanks, Hunter!

Best option for side strip of lawn
The in-ground irrigation that was installed in the house we bought was somewhat poorly laid out and installed. The unit for the side strip was installed slightly unlevel, so it just couldn't get good converage on the (almost exactly) 5x30 strip, which leads to a dead spot and having the corner of the garage getting blasted by water. The MP Rotator gets full coverage on the area now and while it still hits the corner of the garage, its not a continuous blast of water--Which is good. I've also switched most of my other sprinkler heads, and in some cases the body as well, to Hunter MP Rotators. Less water waste and better soil wetting--No more pooling of water anywhere in the lawn. Believe it or not, Water usage is down around 40% (914CF vs 1575) over last year for July on top of 25% savings for June and the lawn looks just as good, if not better. These will easily pay for themselves over this Summer season. I've got 2 center strips that I haven't changed out yet because they've been hard to track down, but I think I'll just go ahead and replace them next season and see what kind of impact that makes. 40% savings also includes about 4-5 hours of slip n slide usage over the month as well (vs zero last year), so I easily could have been seeing upwards of 50% savings.

These are the ones.
Can't go wrong with Hunter. I have tried to get similar performance from Rainbird, Toro and others, but Hunter rules for me. Outstanding value in a well made product that holds up really well.
