Charles Chips Original Tin

I bought this for my mother with dementia thinking the “Charlie Chip can” would bring back some happy memories. She does seem to like it! The chips are the same as I remember from the late 1970’s, and more importantly, the tin is the same.As for a review of the product, I feel in the current environment, it’s a fair deal. Nothing is as cheap as it was in the late 20th century. The tin came packaged well and the bag inside the tin was in tact without any visible crushed chips. The chips themselves have a nice very lightly salted flavor and taste fresh. I have not tried the BBQ nor the ripple chips, just the regular flat chips.The tin seems well constructed and should be very reusable. My uncle has tins from in the 1970’s, and he will “occasionally run them through the dishwasher” for a good clean. I bought a new tin for him as well 12/2022, and he plans to do the same with his new tin.I like that the metal lid for the container is well fitted, yet simple to remove. I have some arthritis in my hands, but until I went to write this review, hadn’t thought about wether it was hard to open the can. To me, that means that it’s easy to open so I did not have to think about it, I just did it. The lid does or just fall off, either. It’s just perfect.I highly recommend this, especially as a nostalgic gift for some of our “older” generations to remember the “good old days.”

Loved these on the East Coast in the 1960s, a stampede into the kitchen when they arrived. These are quite expensive, boo, but fresh, crispy, bit greasy in a yummy salty way, cute can for future chips too. Very well packed and mostly whole. Fun to share with my west coast family now.

Very disappointed in what used to be a good product.When it arrived in a sturdy box the can was dented, and about 80% of the were broken, and greasy, not what I was expecting. Definitely not the photo shown. They tasted stale.Not worth the money.

Charles Chips are a good all-around chip that won't overwhelm the rest of your meal. An added bonus is the durable air tight canister. It is perfect for snack storage.

We used this product extensively back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Was great to see it back in production. Great memorabilia and tasty product as well!

Chips taste good, but there was only a small amount compared to the amount of money that it cost basically you’re buying the container and it’s not the size of the original potato chip container they were not greasy and had a good taste

Growing up in the York/Glen ROCK area we had Charles chips delivered by the bread man I think! The tins were used for toy soldiers,Lincoln logs or tinker toys. Amazing memories. I wanted to share those surprises with my great great niece and our newer family members

Ordered as a gift for a 60 year old friend. We all remember these chips here in Ohio! Tin came and is much smaller than the "olden" days, and chips inside were in a platic bag and were all crushed. They only filled the can 1/2 way if that. I was embarrassed when the gift was opened. Amazon was great about a refund, however, but the disappointment was huge!
