This is a short, well planned and well written book. It has easy to implement advice for parents of preteen/teens who are digitally immersed. I highly recommended it to any parents who want to know how to keep kids cyber safe and friendly.

"cyber bulling no more: Parenting a High Tech Generation" by Holli Kenley, M.A. is a book for all parents to read. Although the book isn't very long, 21 pages, the author covers a lot of information. She discusses how to protect your child online by implementing safety measures and negotiating rules and then renegotiating as a child gets older and more responsible; how to get intervention for the child that might be a victim of cyber bulling or the child who is actually committing cyber bulling; and how to prevent destructive behaviors online.What I liked is that the author doesn't go to the old standby of "children should be protected from technology." She understands that technology is a way of life and the best way to protect our children is by educating them and also by modeling proper behavior online. She also discusses on having a safety plan in place (and what it should consist of) if anyone in the family is being cyber bullied.It is a quick read with a lot of good information. I know that I will be implementing her measures in my home.

With the advancements that mankind has made in the world comes the advancements in the ways that bullies have taken to going after their victims. In the new book CYBER BULLYING NO MORE we are able to see just how technology has not only advanced our abilities in life but given those who would do harm more avenues to do so.Holly Kenley lays out for us what all parents and guardians should keep in mind when it comes to children being involved in modern technology, be it cellphones or the internet. The book also reminds us of the responsibility we all have to do our part in keeping young people safe. Communication is a large part of what is discussed in the book, as well as understanding why individuals react the way they do.I found this to be a great resource that addresses not only the needs of the individual being bullied but the bully as well.Easy to read and understand and great information to share, CYBER BULLYING NO MORE gets to the root of the problem and searches for real answers.

As a child and family therapist I get questions frequently about how to manage technology in the lives of children. That is why I am glad that this book is now on my resource shelf. Cyber Bullying No More, by Holli Kenley, M.A., Marriage and Family Therapist, is divided into three sections: Protection, Intervention, and Prevention. Protection covers steps to set safety standards and limits with technology up front. Intervention gives steps on creating a safety plan, encouraging children to talk about bullying, and focuses on what to do if a child is involved in cyber bullying, either as a victim or a bully. The Prevention section explores the overall impact of technology on a person and attitudes that foster a healthy view of technology.This ia proactive and timely book gives parents specific steps to follow to prevent cyber bullying, and what to do in case a child is dealing with cyber bullying, either as the bully or the victim. I find Cyber Bullying No More to be generalizable to setting safety standards and limits with regards to social networking and technology with children. I like that it is simple to read and concise, I will be recommending this book to parents that I work with to help them take steps to intervene in their child's life if cyber bullying occurs.

I find Holli Kenley's book above all to be a practical guide for parents. She presents concrete steps for preventing and dealing with cyber bullying that will guide parents through the maze of the technological world that most kids understand far better than their elders. I especially like the importance placed on face to face communication in all phases of contemporary life. Not only are children likely to spend too much time with their technology, but consider the amount of time the average adult watches TV or DVDs, and fails to talk or listen to other members of his family or friends. Posting your activities on Facebook is no substitute for a heart to heart talk with a parent, friend or trusted relative.For parents needing help with dealing with cyber bullying, or looking to keep their children from falling into that trap, this book is highly recommended.
