Great for the price
I gave this item 5 stars as quality related to price. This isn't just the trim, it also comes with the valve that connects to the water supplies. The valve isn't quite as high quality as others, but is by no means cheap. The handles are thick metal and look great. The same goes for the downspout. One thing on the downspout, it is only held on by a set screw. My plumber says this is normal now, but the one he replaced was threaded on. Time will tell. The shower head is cheap and should only be used if you have ZERO alternatives. Basically: everything other than the shower head is great and is well worth the purchase for anyone not wanting to spend hundreds on a trim kit.

Very nice faucet.
Bought this for a standard shower as a replacement. Quality is very good. Fit perfectly and easy to install. Very smooth action with no play in the handles. This is a buy again product. No drip, no runs, no errors.

Nice simple looking faucet
The instructions were not for a newby. I installed this faucet without too many hiccups but I am a do-it-yourselfer. However, it is a pretty straight-forward installation if you have installed a few other faucets, or if you have worked with any plumbing you should not have too many problems. The tub filler/spout is metal. The handles are made of heavy metal, but the handle guards are plastic. The valve is brass. You will have to purchase connectors to attach the brass valve to the pipes. I used sharkbites. If you haven’t used them, try them! It makes things so much easier, but, you will pay for the convenience. I prefer single handle faucets, but due to configuration issues I had to use a two handle faucet, so as far as two handle faucets go, this is a nice simple looking faucet.

Nice quality. Was a Great price!
These are good quality pieces that come in at a fraction of the price these are offered at Home Depot and Lowe's. They are heavy and primarily metal (as opposed to plastic) and have a very solid feel to them. They installed relatively easily (neither harder nor easier than others I've installed) and I don't think there's anything noteworthy about that.I would buy this item again, but don't expect to have to.OK....so six months later I moved in to a new house and was so pleased with my original purchase that I decided to buy another one of these sets. I still think it's a great set, but now the price is double what I payed previously. I can't like that.

Happy to see others did better.
Like - I like the finished look and the price was good. Dislike - The quarter-turn faucets require quite a bit of finesse to adjust to a proper temp. Think about it - 1/4 turn for wide open instead of 1 or two complete revolutions. Once the hot is open, there is only about 1/8" of handle movement to get the temp just right. Takes a bit of getting used to, I guess. Big dislike - Others do not mention this in reviews but I wonder if manufacturing tolerances are loosy/goosy in that it took me six wraps of Teflon tape to seal the faucets into PVC and CPVC. Traditionall (for me) three wraps was enough. With that said, the threaded plastic may have played a part in that also. It took forever, but I did get the leaks to stop. I had more problems installing this set than when plumbing my entire house when I built it.

Style for an older technology
With so single control Tub/Shower faucets the rage for many years now, it was nice to find a two-handle, *-inch on center valve fixture that has some more modish style. My wife and I did not want to replace or repair our tiling, so we needed a two-handle fixture with an 8" valve spread. So many such fixtures looked like they were produced for the retro, motel or rental property market. This fixture is all metal, chrome on brass, and manufactured by a well-known reliable company. American-Standard is well respected by plumbers and plumbing supply houses -- check it out: ask some plumbers or inquiry at you local independent plumbing wholesaler. I do a lot of my own plumbing, but I ask questions before buying. Right now, American-Standard is recommended value for quality at a reasonable price. This installed easily without any 'dinking' around. I do not expect leaks, but it just went in last evening.

Better try to install it ASAP incase its not correct or missing parts!
Bought this as an open box warehouse amazon deal. Ended up missing a piece out of one of the handles (Set screw). Not able to use without this piece. Also the faucet is set up to run tub spout type and couldnt use this either. No picture on the site showed this. Could not return since I didnt try to install it until after I had it a few weeks. Disapointed in Amazon once again.

Very satisfied
This unit installed easily, fit exactly as expected, seems heavy enough to last for a while and no leaks or other issues so far. It looks great too!

LOST flow rate - don't know why
NOTESDISMAL FLOW RATE - the max flow rate from this (tub spout or shower) is 1.32 GPM or 5 LPM in my home. I have trouble shouted this every way, and that is the max. Other taps in the house are normal water pressure. So something is amiss with this thing. The mandated flow rate should be about 2.5GPM or 9.5LPM - which would be fine, but as it is, showers take forever and are ineffective. * Prior to the installation of this, the flow rate in the spout and shower was better.CARTRIDGESI have tried the original cartridges sent with the product and brand new ones obtained from American Standard directly and this does not fix the issue - flow rate remains at 1.32 GPM (5LPM). Without the cartridge in place the flow rate is above 3 GPM, so flow rate is getting to the area fine, it is just the cartridge that is stopping it.LOCATION: If you are considering buying Canada, don't, American Standard tells me they do not sell this faucet here, and although they are nice about it, they inform me that they can not help with it, as it is not sold here. (They say that Amercian Standard stopped selling in Canada about 10 years ago or so... so unclear how this is getting in to this geography.) - that being said, I purchased it on the Canadian site, and hence I think that should be OK.WARRANTY? - Web description indicates there is a warranty on it, but I wonder if this will be true given that it is not supposed to be sold in Canada.LOOK and FEEL - Its fine, but not so relevant as it isn't working.MONEY - of course, plenty of plumber time was used to install, and it is not working, so disappointing.
