Removes steel quickly. That's a good thing.
If you're just getting in to Tormek and need to grind profiles - you're either going to need this wheel or buy a high speed grinder. The DC-250 does a good job as a medium coarse wheel. Follow the instructions and you'll be pleased with the results. If you're not used to diamond wheels - don't put a lot of pressure on the wheel - it won't grind any faster and you'll ruin the life of the bonded diamond. This is the first wheel I bought after getting my Tormek, and I'm glad I did.

Well built, ready to go, PERFECT!
I needed a coarse wheel to augment my 1000 grit diamond wheel and I got it! I am growing into my wood turning skills and now I can easily create new tool shapes without the worry of overheating the M2 grade steels in which I have invested. The package arrived undamaged, the wheel was perfectly round and the simple TORMEK rapid wheel change method is just superb. If a person is truly interested in the care of tools and finer techniques of sharpening steel, The TORMEK diamond wheels are the way to go. I have not tried sharpening carbide yet, but that will be my next adventure. I highly recommend the TORMEK diamond wheels.

Great for rough grinding
I have a Tormek and was frustrated trying to re-grind (as opposed to merely sharpen) damaged edges or regrinding edges to form a new angle. The stock wheel was just too S-L-O-W! I'd spend half an afternoon getting a new edge profiled. (Don't know how the guy on the company-produced vids is able to re-grind a damaged chisel edge in a few minutes unless the tool had really soft steel?) I decided to try this to shorten the process. And, despite the extra minute or two it takes to swap out wheels, this is a HUGE improvement. Just a few minutes and the tool is ready to sharpen. Definitely worth the additional investment.

Great product
This is a must half if you have a tour Mac unbelievable Stone makes easy work out of reshaping a blade and getting the angle you want if I could only buy one stone out of the three diamond stones this one would be at the stone that comes with a Mac can do the rest but this is wonderful
