Perfect, but Amazon's photo is wrong
I read the other reviews where people said they used this for testing their home HVAC systems and tried this as a result. My only concern with a meter like this is that my low-flow HVAC system would not have enough flow to spin it, but this unit worked perfectly.WOULD I BUY THIS AGAIN?> Yes. It's a nice unit.PROS:> Works with very low speeds, easily down to 1mph, and worked well with my HVAC system.> Fan is attached to a nice length cable, and is perfect for reaching vents, etc., while also not being too long.> Cable unplugs for storage.> Included a battery & foam lined case.> Included thermometer works nicely (I didn't even read the description when I bought this and didn't know that was an included feature).> Has a neat light sensor and automatic backlight - when you go into a dark area, the screen lights up proportionally to how dark the room is.CONS:> The switch to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius is underneath the battery, so you have to plug the battery in, then hold down the tiny button for a few seconds, and then you can put the battery in and close the lid.> The battery compartment lid has no access hole for your finger tip, so trying to remove it requires you to smack the unit against your hand to jostle the battery door free.NOTE: The "Listing" photo that Amazon has at the time of purchase (2/2014) was wrong - it shows a red unit - but the unit is actually yellow and has a wired attachment fan that you can hold up to the vent which has a cable that is about 3' long. The "Product" picture Amazon has on their site today shows the wrong product, but it's close. My model has the same buttons, but in a different layout, so I am sure it's just cosmetic. I've uploaded a picture of the unit I received.

It's nicely made, it works, and it did what I needed at a reasonable price.
This is a nicely made unit and it seems to work well.I bought this to check out some changes to my HVAC duct work, and the PMA90 let me measure the improvement in air flow before and after. I used the Average feature to get an average reading for the duct area and determine flow. I also plan on using it to measure changes in air flow for new HVAC filters versus old, but I haven't tried that yet.It comes in a fitted, foam-lined case with 9V battery, handheld sensor, meter readout unit, and manual. The manual has good info but some things are missing. For instance, the meter display seems capable of displaying temperature in degrees C or F, but the Units key doesn't change that and the manual gives no other indication of how to change it. I can do the conversion if needed, but it would be nice to have the direct readout.Overall, it's nicely made, it works, and it did what I needed at a reasonable price.

Stopped working after 20 minutes of use - Reads zero all the time - Buyer Beware
I purchased this back in August. I played with it for a couple minutes when I first got it. About 3 months later I started to actually use the unit. After 2 days of taking measurements (about 20 minutes of actual use) the unit stopped working. It just reads zero for CFM or velocity measurements all the time now. Several other posters with negative reviews have had very similar issues. It seems fairly obvious that Pyle has a major quality control issue with this product. I contacted Pyle and received a generic response saying there is a 1 year warranty and after that I can pay to send the unit back for repair which typically takes 2 weeks and then I have to again pay for return shipping of the unit back to me. I paid $50 for the unit brand new with free shipping. Even $10 to ship it each way is 40% of the new cost. This is not an acceptable solution. You may notice that there is a comment from Pyle on some of the negative reviews. It will say something like:"Hello I work for Pyle and I can help troubleshoot your issue, we will find a solution or I will get you a working unit. Email me directly at [email protected]"I sent a message to this address and I have not received any response. I assume it is a PR stunt to make it look like they are supporting their customers. If Pyle does make this right, I will change this review to reflect their actions. If this review is still negative, you have an indication that they are not standing behind their product.

Works as advertised.
Only one flaw: documentation references a mark on the inner rim to tell you which face to hold on incoming wind. No such mark exists. So I called technical support and they tell me that the side to face the wind has the pedals showing the small round molding mark is the front side. I like the long cable to extend my reach. I stuck the paddle outside of my car window, driving at 60 mph, and it held up very nicely. Reading was the same from both sides. It will accurately measure wind speeds < 1 mph.

OK
Good value but I never could switch from C to F.

Good Unit
Got this to try to solve my furnace airflow problems. I was able to analyse my hot & cold vent flows in each room and adjust things so that it was more balanced. Bottom line was that my cold air flow back to the furnace is too low to balance completely so I will need to do some duct changes. Couldn't have done it all without this tool.It was sold from Amazon Warehouse and noted as "used with minor scratches' which it did have, no problem as I thought that someone had just tried it and returned it. The box however had a note on the outside saying that it "beeps but won't turn on - return", so it looks like it's a refurbished item. I noted that it randomly shuts down, but it worked OK to do what I needed it to so I can live with that. I may not have bought it though if I knew it was a refurb though! I wish Amazon had described it properly. Now in Jan /14 I see that the price for a new one is $30 less than what I paid for my refurbed item so I'm not as happy as I was.

Quality anemometer, don't expect perfection, works well
Honestly? It does exactly what I wanted it to do which is measure CFM from ceiling and floor registers for ducted heating systems. Very easy to set up, super easy to use, I wasn't looking for the most accurate device in the world, just a unit that can give me relative values across the board to balance HVAC system. I think it's great!

Unit arrived in great condition. Comes with a battery and travel case
Unit arrived in great condition. Comes with a battery and travel case. Unit works well down into about the 40-50 ft/min range, below that slight air movement didn't have enough velocity to turn the blade. But well worth the price.

Pretty good, quite accurate
Pretty good, quite accurate, the fan sensor attachment, is very sensitive, will move at the slightest breeze, good for measuring slow air flow areas / or applications.

pretty good
works as advertised. extremely simple to setup/use. not sure how accurate readings are but it's better than guessing. I used it to confirm CFM output of two blowers and it's pretty damn close to what it should be (ie reading 393 CFM on a 400CFM blower)
