Best football out there for little kids. This is the second one we have purchased, and I am getting a couple of others. Not hugely durable if used on concrete/pavement, but that's the trade-off for getting something soft for little kids. MUCH better than nerf (easier to throw and catch, better weight, etc.). Started using it partially inflated with toddlers, then inflate more as they grow. One kid wears glasses, and this is pretty gentle for those missed catches that make it through to the face. Overall a great product.

Great football, soft enough to get them comfortable with the idea. But not a sponge. When aired up all the way it has a good firm feel. You'll want to get an air pump for sure, it does drop air pressure over a couple months. We've bought three of these. I'd say about 18 months of hard play max is about all they will last. But that's plenty good for me. My kids wear them out. They have a good texture for grip and don't just kill them if they plant the tip of the ball square in the chest.

Great grip material, sized perfectly for yoots - So comfortable to throw and catch. Adults can use too for fun. I didn't care for the extra guide bands they put between the lacing, but those peel away if you work at it. Asphalt and cement will chew this ball up over time, because of the softer grip material. So if you're playing with this on the streets with the boomboxes and parked car as an end zone marker, then consider buying two, since at this price they are well with it and replaceable.

Best football for young kids learning to catch and throw. Great grip. Softer than your typical football. My 4 year old loved it.

This football is perfect. It’s soft enough that if you get hit in the face it’s not going to hurt a lot, but it’s not a foam ball. It’s heavy enough you can throw it in the wind, and real enough to throw a nice spiral. Just about everyone who picks it up comments about how perfect it is. I liked it enough to buy a second one

Perfect size, weight, and face-smack cushioning for my 5-yr-old to learn how to catch and throw! The ball is made of "Nerf"-like material on the outside, but it still has a bladder that you must pump up with air. The laces are surprisingly comfortable, and he can get get a nice spin on the ball because of it. Just note, there are a few "harder" places, so not AS soft as say a full, old school nerf ball, but they make the ball more durable when hitting the ground/pavement/etc. Also, colors are RANDOM, so don't expect a particular color, but all the colors are really nice, so it really doesn't matter! We had one of these for a long time, and eventually it broke, so this one replaced it!

My little brother has recently started to gain interest in football, so now him and I frequently go out to play catch, however he had issues gripping the composite footballs and would be afraid to catch them if we were more than several feet apart from each other. This football is great and he can get his hands around it and get a good grip to throw a pretty good spiral, and since it's decently soft he's not afraid to get hit by it. I'm on my fifth one of these. My boys (7 and 8) spend at least 20 minutes throwing one of these in the road most days; they hold up remarkably well. We'll use the same one for months and months -- they are very, very durable. Their only kryptonite seems to be over-inflation, which rips 'em up pretty quickly (kids no longer allowed to inflate). They are easy to grip and throw very well. They have enough mass that I can throw one as far as I'd ever need to, but not so much that it hurts to get hit by one. Yes, you can't choose the color. No, we absolutely don't care. We care that it works well, and this one does.
