One of the only Piano books you'll ever need!
This book is for the serious piano student and pianist alike. It is a great book with a wide range of composers, including: Albéniz, Bach, Beethoven, Boccherini, Brahms, Chopin, Daquin, Debussy, Dvo'ák, Fauré, Field, Diabelli, Fibich, Grieg, Franck, Gosse, Granados, Handel, Haydn, Hummel, Joplin, Kabalevsky, Khachaturian, Liadov, Liszt, MacDowel, Massenet, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Offenbach (including a duet version), Prokofieff, Rachmaninoff, Rameau, Rimsky-Korsakov, Satie, Scarlatti, Tchaikovsky, Scriabin, Shostakovitch, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss (Blue Danube), and Weber. The average Grade is about Grade 6 - there are some Grade 2-3 pieces all the way up to Grade 8 level pieces. It's not 'Graded' by any conservatory or music board, but there are a lot of pieces in there to work with. Some are written very simply (Bach's minuet in G Major for instance) and others are very complex such as Mozart and Rachmaninoff (Prelude Op 3 No 2).I quite like the fact that this book has a plastic comb spine, which makes for easy page turning and that means that the page stays open to where you turn it. With 90 pieces in this book, you will be busy for quite some time as there is a lot of choice.I'm actually using this book in my piano lessons. It is a great book to play from and keep in mind these pieces are not the simplified versions. If you can only get one piano book, get either this one, or Library of Piano Classics (Library of Series) either book would give you hours of enjoyment at the piano.

A perfect book
I love to just sit at the piano and flick through the pieces in this book, as they are all the pieces I recognize and enjoy but never know the name of! There is a great variety of pieces to choose from. Highly recommend.

It really is a Library
For sheer value for money you can't go past this thick book. It contains around 50 pieces of varying styles by over 40 composers, including several duet arrangements of pieces (also included as solos). Many of the pieces are commonly included in collections (Traumerei, Fur Elise, Fantasy-Impromptu) but others are more unusual. A few of the composers include: Albeniz, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms, Debussy, Faure, Scott Joplin ... it's a long list. The book itself features: Handy ring-binding, without which it would never stay open; clear printing (not one of those publications that looks like it's gone through a fax); and good editing.I would particularly recommomend this book to people trying to increase the size of their music library (done instantly) or people who want to get a taste of numerous musical styles and composers. The variety in levels of the music can keep you dipping into this book from low-intermediate through to the higher grades. Beware, however, if you've already bought the Library of Romantic Piano - it's mostly the Romantic Period pieces from this volume.
