Splits
As someone who's new to turning and purchasing wood to work with i'd take these comments with a pinch of salt.Received within a few days and i was happy with the sizes. All three pieces measured approximately 250 x 120mm. According to my cheap Amazon moisture reader the outside measured between 8 & 9%, fine. By the time i'd turned to down to round i was noticing a lot of splits and cracks and by the time i'd got down to a 30mm "stem" on the candle holder i had planned the splits and cracks were really apparent. This in turn lead to the piece splitting midway along the stem and flying off of the lathe. I measured the moisture content on the stem and it was 17%.Like i said above, i'm a beginner, so the cracks and piece splitting could be, and probably are down to me, and these are just my observations.Would i purchase again, probably, but it will depend on how the next two pieces go.***UPDATE***After using all 3 pieces i can confirm that all 3 contained a lot of cracks. 80% or the wood was unusable.

Good Delivery but not as advertised
The logs arrived in time and the packaging was good - no issues at all. However, they were advertised as kiln dried turning blanks and all I can say is if they had been in a kiln the kiln was off at the time. They are not as wet as newly cut wood but they certainly not dry as suggested in the advert. For me, this makes them very expensive as they are not sold as advertised.I am working with one which will probably twist and turn as it dries out. I will keep the other two until they are dry, which will probably be a couple of years.A bit disapointing as I thought I had found a regular supplier of wood ready to turn.

I would score it less than Zero, Best suited for firewood! completely unsuitable as a turning blank!
The profile of this log is full of splits(see photo) and totally useless to consider using as a wood turning blank, I feel that the other two logs which both have visible external cracks at either end will be little better.I think the best use for these logs is as firewood but its a very expensive alternative!
