They missed three easy stars and failed hard, earning only two stars for an otherwise good product!
I have divided this review into five categories, distributing one star each:Install: Actually, it is a very easy installation. Only 20 bolts on 2012-later Wrangler JKs, (apparently, this knowledge is from the internet) and no need for the U or T-bolts that were (apparently) necessary on earlier models. But four of the bolts (the 6M) listed in the parts list are missing from the kit! I assume that the kit *does* have all the hardware necessary for pre-2012 JKs however (this info from the internet, not from my personal experience.) Still, no stars for you, Body Armor, for making me drive 60 miles for 4 bolts and hardware. (Well, we waited until we had some normal a reasons to drive into town.) Also, no specifications for the recommended torques for each bolt. (That would be nice, I had to google and infer from the similar Mopar rock rails which - btw - I did not realize you can pick up for $100 or $150 since so many Rubicon owners take their stock ones off. (I still like these a bit more because of their utility as a step... see below.)Installation instructions: Well, just read the following (theirs in caps) quoted directly from the printed installation instructions (which are easy enough to find on the internet if you search:) "Hardware Kit for Rockcrawler Side Guards - JK Unlimited 4-Door DO NOT INSTALL THIS PRODUCT ON ANY VEHICLE OTHER THAN JEEP JK UNLIMITED MODELS." But you say to yourself (jeepers will get it), "Are not these the 2-door versions?" You are right, this particular part, JK-4122, is the two door version. And indeed the installation instructions mention the two door version in other places! But use pictures of the Unlimited 4-door! I also note, that the image used with the Amazon page for the product is in fact the four door part - yes you are looking at the 4-door Unlimited part, at least as of August 20 2014. Confused? So was I. No star here Body Armor! (And boo Amazon.) I did not want to fully unpack everything until I was sure I was not sending it back, so I contacted Amazon hoping they could confirm what exactly it was they had sold me.Amazon Service: At first, they could not understand the question. To be fair, is a little confusing if you are not aware that "Unlimited" means 4-door. But we worked through it. Then the service rep told me that they were in a customer service center, and not at a shipping site, so they could not help me at all and I could send it back if I wanted. I sent an email suggesting that if Amazon is going to sell auto parts, they ought to at least be able to correctly identify if a part they are selling is for the 4-door or 2-door version. Just have the right part listed, OK? Next I get an apology email promising to look into it. And they never looked into it. That was the end of communication. Eventually I just decided it was going to be their problem if all the UPS dude found was all the parts duct taped to the two bars with a note that says "return to Amazon", since I was not going to carefully repack the wrong product if they were not going to even bother to verify that the 2-door version of the product they are selling (again that says that it is both the 2-door and the 4-door product in the packaging and has the 4-door part pictured on the Amazon page) is the right part or not. So with my problem of caring totally solved by Amazon not caring, I went ahead an unpacked everything and started to do the install - which again is pretty easy, and it is the correct 2-door version, though without all the parts in the box. So Amazon, you cost Body Armor a point for being useless about everything except accepting money for a part and shipping it.Build: Other commentators have mentioned bad welds or sloppy powder coating. With the *excellent* Amazon price, I had my trepidation upon opening the package. (Especially with the stoner authored installation instructions!) Inside I found perfect set of Body Armor Black Steel Rockcrawler Side bars. Perfect welds. No flaws in the powder coat. Beautiful. They installed without problems due to manufacture of the actual steel side bars. (Recall, not all the parts were in the package.) But the build, install, look; these are fine affordable side bars. Hey look, a star!Purpose: These are however not really for hardcore rock crawling, which makes the name Rockcrawler um, a lie? Well maybe not so much, as I'd much rather have these on in a sideways encounter with a rock than not. They don't seem useless offroad, at least. Where they shine is in three areas: It is a nice cheap step for our daily driver. And if you own a Wrangler Sport (which come with no kind of bar down there) these are going to be super useful for an actual threat to daily drivers: loose shopping carts and slow speed bad drivers in parking lots, both of which dangerous to your lovely doors. Finally, these are actually pretty bars for almost ~$110 per side. So a star here too, if you have the right expectations.Hey look, only two stars for a product that with better instructions (pennies), a complete set of hardware (a few more pennies), and better service (obviously costing like gold or molybdenum since Amazon just ignored questions and seems not to care about getting listings correct), would have otherwise been a 5 star product. What a shame.

GREAT BARS-BUT....
I need to clear up some bad reviews I've read on this product. First of all, I bought these for a 2014 JK (2dr). Amazon says they won't fit but the manufacturer's site says they do. And they do.The steps themselves look great and are sturdy as hell. But, the instructions suck and I was missing 4 bolts. Luckily I have a handy "leftover bolt bucket" and I had 4 extras that fit.So anyway, minor problems aside I did my best to follow the three pictures and hang these bars on my Jeep. My main issue lies in that the large bolts that attach the mounting brackets to the frame, hang over the frame where the actual steps mount to those same brackets. They interfere with the steps mounting flush to the bracket do I had to use a Dremel to shear off the edge of an overhanging bolt do the actual step could fit flush to the mount.I have hung a set of Nerf bars on another Jeep vehicle and had similar fit issues. For the price, I highly recommend these bars. But nuts and bolts alone probably won't get it done. That is, if you get all of the parts that you're supposed to. Which you won't. If you are mildly handy and have some tools in the shop you can do it. I'd recommended them, and I'd do it again.

Rusted Garbage
I bought these and was "iffy" when they arrived. I didn't like the coating, it wasn't a uniform coating, and it looked very lazily applied. I only checked one rail out of the box when it was delivered and I let it sit in the corner of the garage until I had spare time to install. Much to my horror, the weld job is garbage. There are spots where the weld doesn't even go completely around the rails. To make matters even worse, out of the box: RUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The metal is clearly rusted and then coating was applied, there is no way this was NOT known to the manufacturer that the base metal was not rusted before the coat of paint was applied. I noticed because the paint doesn't even coat the metal completely. There are bare areas around the joints that are not even painted, the rust is clear as day.I would not trust these, there is no way I would ever use these as a jack point, not would I trust it to protect my jeep in any way. Please, seriously listen to me I love my JK, I'm not trolling with the 1 star, these are garbage and I don't want anyone else to get fooled by these. Garbage product. NOT to mention, as other has said, the bolts are utter crap. I'm stuck with these bars because I missed the return window. Hopefully I can off load them on Craig's list. Do NOT buy these rails. They are $200 for a reason.

Body Armor Steps
Bought and installed these on a 2015 2 door JK. As others have stated I did need to go out and buy 4 bolts to use in the threaded body mounts that come standard on the newer JK's. No big deal though. I get amazed at how some people whine about stuff like that . Anyway , the bars mounted up without a hitch once I had the added hardware. I highly recommend having a helper when mounting the bars to the mounting brackets as these are fairly heavy. They look great, work well as a step for the wife and should provide some limited protection . They are solid and seem to be very well built. The finish was quite nice and looks like it will last for a number of years. Shipping was quicker than expected and the packaging was just fine. Overall I am very pleased with the product and would certainly recommend these steps for the casual weekend explorer and daily driver.
