A great read for leaders in any field! One to keep in your collection
This book was recommended to me by one of the nurses on our team. She sent a text that included a quote from the book and said “this book is so good that every one on our admin team needs to read it!” Always thrilled to see my team prioritizing quality I promised to read it and added it to my audible account. It did not disappoint - many of the concepts were familiar to me from other reading I have done and from leadership training but the author helps to illustrate what it really means to hire well, orient well, treat employees well and prioritize excellence. The book wasn’t an overly cumbersome one and had enough great takeaways that I felt driven to order the print edition so I could make some notes and go back for quotes and illustrations. And, yes, I also recommended it to our admin team!

Great Easy Read
There is a reason this man is a legend in the service industry. As one of the founders of The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Mr. Schultze explains the seemingly simple steps necessary to do things better than your competitors and ultimately with excellence.

Just as the title says
I have read many books on winning and being successful. This is one of the top, if not the best besides the Bible. I love that he won by helping others win. He truly considers others as more important than himself. This is one book I will reread and recommend to other business leaders.

Real Life
This is a book for everyone in any industry. It’s not just for hospitality, luxury or any other niche market. If you are involved with people, serving people, this book is for you. While the principles in the book are definitely business like, they are completely transferable to anyone in any field. While Schulze describes and unpacks these principles he laces the chapters will real life, real time examples.Maybe the best part was at the end, after extolling the virtue of excellence in serving others (also known as the golden rule), he reminds us that business is not THE most important thing, faith in the Living God is, even while striving for excellence in all things. For a great summary listen to his interview on the Carey Nieuwhof podcast.

Excellence Wins
Many great points in this book. The last chapter is a very compelling testimony to the power of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Into a mind who will accept nothing but the best from himself and those he selects to run his business. Wholly inspiring.

Just do everything in this book and win. Stop the 2nd guessing. Do the work!
Loved this book! Horst does an excellent job highlighting the importance of motivating team members by sharing an inspiring vision. His concepts are simple and easy to understand - amazingly basic strategies that are unfortunately so frequently second-guessed or forgotten that many business do indeed end up compromising or losing market share. The businesses that hold true to core values, instill employee desires to be part of something greater than themselves, and consistently perform above average will always outshine their competitors - everyone benefits in this model. Can't say enough good things about this book - an easy read - the stories are inspiring and Horst's moral compass is set on due North!
