The most readable textbook we've used during my TESOL coursework. Some of the suggestions are a bit much for the introverted personality but all-in-all, it is a very solid resource.

A Necessary EFL Book
Covers a lot of material in this essential EFL manual. Scrivener distills and imparts his many years of teacher/teacher training experience for us lucky readers and teachers. The book is densely packed with so many ideas, so much that will make your life in the classroom more meaningful and pleasant. He particularly focuses on Discovery techniques, but is always very balanced in his writing. You can focus on a learner centered classroom occasionally or substantially. It is all here. Highly recommended.

great toolkit for beginner teachers
This book reminds me of an old classic "Classroom dynamics". It takes on the hard task to make management teachable for the novice teacher!! Clear activities and prodecures are explained while at the same time a clear theoretical frame is evident. As a teacher trainer I found is a very valuable tool to make my trainees think about different classroom issues!

Really useful for teachers
It covers three areas in the classroom: the teacher, the classroom and the students. It offers an analysis on 14 types of intervention, examining the way teachers communicate with learners.
