It worked! The horrible grinding sound is gone!
The media could not be loaded. Our dryer started making a horrible grinding noise. I did the only reasonable thing I could do and ignored it for a while... but eventually I knew I had to do something. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and eventually took the drum out of my dryer and it was pretty obvious I needed a new bearing. There was red dust that I assume used to be part of the bearing (see picture). And I'm including a video showing how loose the bearing was (it shouldn't be possible to move it back and forth. The new bearing fits perfectly... of course I didn't think to get a video of that. It's been about 5 months since I replaced the bearing in our dryer and it's still working/sound great.UPDATE: Didn't quite last 12 months. Grinding noise came back. I took out the drum and saw the remnants of the bearing (see picture). It may not be the bearings fault... perhaps I should have just replaced the entire assembly instead of just the bearing... but it might be the bearings fault.

Good
Dryer runs very smoothly now. I suggest you purchase a new o ring as well. I probably could have reused the old o ring but replaced at same time since I really do not want to take the dryer apart again any time soon

Silenced my dryer.
No need to spend $30-50 on the full kit, this silenced my dryer! Best bang for the buck. Before install, dryer was making a horrible screech coming from the rear and this fixed it.
