Creative Cloth Doll Beading: Designing And Embellishing With Beads

Another doll book for my collection! Book looked new , and arrived earlier than expected! Great company to order from !

This book has some pretty examples of art dolls in the gallery. I got the book for the mermaid pattern, and I do like the shape of the basic doll pattern, it makes a very well-shaped doll. It is a little tricky to get the darts positioned properly to shape the torso, however. If this author's books are lacking, it is in instructions. Two piece legs and arms? How to join the pieces together? It is not explained. Fortunately, I have made many dolls and do not rely on someone else's directions, but for someone who wants more information, it is not clear. I know that this book is about beading, and that is pretty and nice, but I do not personally like the beaded face, or understand the need for a beaded tatoo. All in all, these books are good eye candy and the patterns serve as a jumping off point for creating one's own dolls, and adapting and making some of one's own patterns.

I purchased a few of her doll books and they all are pretty similar. I like this one the best as it has quite a few examples of embellishing. As far as a book for a first time cloth doll maker, this book would be okay but I would suggest ‘Anatomy of a Doll’ by Susanna Oroyan

I love Pattie's unusual style and I learn something new in everyone of her books and I have all but the faces one. My only complaint is having to add seam allowances on some pieces.I find it unnecessary and bothersome..but she must have a good reason for doing this I just don't like it. Also some of the instructions are vague for anyone with limited sewing skills. But it is always worth the time it takes to teach yourself if necessary.

Love it ! Love it!! I have all of her previous books which are a treat for the eyes--and so is this one!!! It's Beautiful!! It didn't miss a beat! The collection of dolls in this book are unique and gorgeous. Wonderfully written--great techniques--and oh so colorful! Inspirational for any dollmaker or doll lover. It's a keeper. I'm so glad it finally came after having it on pre order for a while. It was worth the wait. Now, I'm off to make a doll!

This is a beautiful book and very informative, as all of Patti's books are. I have all four of her books and I have learned a great deal from them. The instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. The pictures are beautiful and very inspiring. I would recommend this book/author to any cloth dollmaker who wishes to perfect her skills and make beautiful dolls.

I love this book. I have made several dolls with this pattern. I like the way the bust works out and how the bent leg pattern allows the doll to sit in different positions.

What a lovely book, it is well written the instructions are easy to follow, the projects are wonderful full of colour and fun.

Beginners and experts at doll crafting will love this book. Lots of great ideas for making your ladies beautiful and daring. Clear instructions for beading. Decorate clothing, give your ladies bead tattoos, jewelry, wings, or a beaded face - lots of ideas for using beads. I haven't used any ideas yet - I enjoy just leafing through the pages and dreaming.
